Ah yes, the next several days will be full of different flavors i'm sure. Exciting nonetheless. Hey blackmagic, if you are lurking around, get your shipping stuff straightened out and you won most of us if not all.

Waiting a year for a camera is not good :)
 
Jeez - the preorders for this thing are going to shut down the....whole internet. Where do I get in line?

I feel like my 5Dmk3 just became obsolete for video, but at least I get to keep a damn fine stills camera. Would hate to have bought an Epic recently though....
 
OLPF - BM said they were working with 3rd party designers to design this for the original BMC in order to keep costs low on the standard cameras - Mosaic Engineering are said to be working on one. No doubt the same will happen for the 4K version.

Assuming that these leaked photos are actually real?
 
Yeah if you like to play the waiting game.

I've been saying all along the 1DC is overpriced, maybe now Canon will be listening. There should be some long overdue camera price adjustments. Sony mentioned today they've sold 2000 F5s and F55s, it wouldn't surprise me if Blackmagic get 20,000 4k preorders!

I think people are completely mistaken about the delivery of these two cameras. Perhaps the reason these two are announced now is to ease up the fiasco of the BMC 1. The problem was not black magic production but the sensor. As the CEO said that having a whole warehouse of parts and production staying idle was not a pretty sight. More so about the investment and lack of revenue. I am sure BM went in search of other sensor manufacturer to try to find a replacement or alternative. In the process they got someone that had the production and quality control to make the BM factory working.


The second effect is that so many people are going to push a sight of relief and thank BM for taking all this time to deliver BMC 1 because they will put their money in BMC 2.
 
so...what was the original bmc recording? 10bit raw 4:2:2? i just hope that pocket cinema camera will do the same..thou i doubt alot about that.
 
Very interested in a S35 4K sensor camera like this for under $4,000. But, I think I'll wait for a PL mount version. I think that would easily be worth an extra $500-$1,000.
