...this weeks gonna be fun ! Man...don't any of those twitter users have a decent camera ?? Can't read a single line ! The pocket CC looks exactly like what I want ! I think Red will be hard pressed to beat this announcement.

[pulpfiction007]

Still...that undercuts everyone else by.....a lot!

4k for 4k with Global shutter. They must get their production line sorted and some minor improvement over existing cameras and bam theyll be flying off the shelf.

Definitely better get the production line in order for that and the pocket camera....it's like what people have been wanting out of DSLRs....great DR, great edit codec, AND raw if you need it, my lord. I'm on that list 1st thing.

[dustylense]

I just preordered so that I can be assured to get the cameras by 2017.

[vanvideo]

The term "game changer" certainly applies here.

[pulpfiction007]

Sure does...this company is aggressive Let's hope they can match that aggression with good production lines. The orders will be flying in like freaking crazy.

I always had a notion that the BMD Cinema Camera was almost a "proof of concept" design - it generated a lot of interest, and it gave them a chance to work out the kinks in the production line.

If they are smart they will let people with existing pre-orders (who might not have them yet) "upgrade" their pre-order or possibly have a "trade in" plan for existing owners (although, trade-in doesn't make much sense - what do you do with them besides resell them?).

Either way, when the new 4k Production Camera comes out, I think the existing Cinema Cameras (well, those that are out in the wild - I know they exist, I've seen one...) are likely to drop to around $1,500 for resell. But that's just my conjecture.

GLOBAL SHUTTER!

I was eating my lunch and almost bit off my tongue!

Spose I'm gonna have to camp outside BMHQ to get one. Damn, they're in bloody Melbourne.
