Just wondering what people are using as good reliable cards for the AC90.

Also, does anybody use the 2nd slot as a backup of footage from the first? maybe 2 x 64gb etc

I haven't tried this yet, does it use up more battery power?

Only way I shoot. 2 x 64 gig cards.
Haven't noticed any additional drain on battery power and the peace of mind mind is worth it if there is.
My cards are class 10 UHS Sandisk.

FYI: Format the cards in the camera before use.

The choice of CF/DS cards has been done to death many times in may video and photographers forums. The results have always been that you can't go wrong with Sandisk or Lexar.
Just choose a fast enough or appropriate speed card.

The other gotcha is ALWAYS buy from a reputable source. Both Lexar and Sandisk are plagued by counterfeits copies all over the place. SO only buy them from known reputable sources. It may cost you 10USD more but what cost a days shooting?

CAVEAT FLash memory has a finite number or writes. (no limit on reads) Whilst the number of writes has been increasing as they improve flash technology over the years SD and CF cards will not live forever. Heavy-users and Professionals should change their cards every few years.

I've got a few Panasonic Gold Series class 10 32GB and 64Gb memory cards with the MLC memory type...I understand that this have a significantly longer life over the TLC or SLC memory cards...but have paid a price premium for the cards. The packaging for most memory cards does not usually mention the memory type...here is some info on MLC from Panasonic: http://panasonic.net/avc/sdcard/features/index.html

my 2 cents: Almost any name brand card will last longer than my expected use of it. 5 years from now I will be using some card that doesn't exist today to record 8k video.
For SD, I have Maxwell, Panasonic and Sony and have not had an issue with any. Plus generic CL10 Micro Center branded SD cards and they work just fine.

@ELN614 Interesting, I went back to the Panasonic site and they only mention TLC, Triple layer cell memory...no reference to SLC..., thanks for the link...will have to look into this a bit more...cheers,

I always run 2 cards. When I had the (1 card) HMC 150, my film-school son borrowed it for a short and lost a half day's footage when his off-brand card crapped out. Couldn't imagine that happening with a client. SD cards are robust (I once found a 16GB Sandisk in the pocket of my jeans that had been through the washer AND the dryer, tested it, accidentally mixed it in with my daily use cards, and I don't even know which one it was as of today, and still use it) but like everything, they die eventually. it's a lot of eggs in one basket so to speak, so use two baskets and double your eggs.

Personally, I only use Sandisk extremes fro reputable sellers - though I have some Transcends that have lasted for years, too.

Transcend 32GB Class 10 cards for this cat. Never had any problems. Always shoot in backup mode. I would go with 64GB cards but I like 32GB in that it forces me to offload sooner so as not to depend on so much footage per card. It just feels wrong trusting so many hours of footage per card but I'm a little bit skeptical at times.

I agree with this thinking.
At the other end of the skeptic card: (pun intended)
If you have a bigger card then there is somewhere to put unexpected stuff if you don't have a pocket full of smaller ones on hand.
I'm a "play it safer than sorrier" person was well.
