I have recently been doing a lot of club and dark event shooting but I also do photography and have been skating by with a kit lens. What I have come to notice is that the Lens does hunting in a lot of tight situations so I know I def need something better in low light. Also in model photographs and different pictures I felt it gives a decent shot but a sharper lens would be nice. So of course I saw the Canon 17-55 and the feedback is great most of the time and most say it performs great in low light and has a great AS sensor. Next I saw the Tamron which is a fraction of the price and while it can stop down to 2.8 feedback shows that it is horrible in low light. That would not do me any good at club events. So is the Canon the only choice or maybe is there another lens out there for me?
P.S. I also saw a review that said the Canon was bad in low light as well. I didn't know how to take that so i'm lost even more now.
