Battleship... the movie... why?

However, it is not the story Fincher is telling.

Says who?...I meant creation in a loose sense, including all the legal fallout between the people who made it. Not a bunch of programmers coding for 2 hours.

Ohhhh man! Looks soooo good!

But seriously, there'd better be giant red pegs falling from the sky the destroy the boats.

Pegs are the alien projectiles, they hit the side of the boat. Someone sat in a meeting and said this to other people, and those other people agreed that it was a fantastic idea...

From the teaser, I am assuming the Decepticon...err...alien ship... puts up an impenetrable shield that knocks out weapons systems and radar/sonar. The alien ship pummels US ships with red darts which don't seem to really damage the ship...but pisses Liam Neeson off. So the US has to fire everything into the air and hopes it falls on the aliens?

This continues for 93 minutes? Eventually, aliens sink. US is victorious. The officer who is screwing his life up is the hero and bangs the hott chick he wants to marry.

I have one of those shower-only deals. Maybe I should buy a kiddie pool, fill it up, and place a model battleship in there to float above my corpse?

It's the Navy response to sixty years of the US Air Force hogging all the glory as our first line of defense against alien invasion.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Don't forget that Neeson will be proud of the main character in the end. Hopefully say something along the lines of "You can steer my battleship any day." Or, you know, something less double entendre-able.

Does Liam Neeson have some sort of psychological disorder where he always has to be acting in something 365 days of the year? Does he ever say "No" to a project?

Concept notwithstanding, the sets look great SadMax! I hope it was fun to work on, I like Peter Berg as a director and I really hope it surprises somehow.
