AVCHD Clip Preview Software or Player

Does Panasonic have a AVCHD clip preview player? I goggled it but didnt find what I was looking for. I did try MPEG Stream clip and that works however navigating the file structure on the card is a pain. It sure would be great if Panasonic made a clip preview program.

Thanks Jan, but I'm on a mac. Another reason to duel boot with Windows. I wish I could write software since I would assume many people with AVCHD files would love to preview clips without opening up a NLE program. The file structure is kind of deep so using VLC is kind of a pain to go through. Canon and Nikon have simple programs for viewing RAW and jpg I would love that for mac and AVCHD
Thanks.

HD VU is not out yet though it is included with the new version of Shot Put Pro which is near final release. I have a pre-release version of Shot Put for evaluation. HD VU will view virtually anytype of file based media. AVCHD, P2 AVC Intra among others.

Its not Clear to me at this time if HD VU will be available as a stand alone purchase.

I just use final cut's log and transfer to view them...only problem is that you can't scale the clip up.

You can view & scale up in iMovie, but can't scrub through clip (play only).

That's what I don't want to do. Open FCP to view clips in small preview window.
Just want to play back clips at 1080 resolution in player that also shows thumbnails of the clips on the card/drive. I back up the cards to a drive with original file structure.
It would be cool to just launch a program that sees the file structure and knows how to handle it. Nothing fancy. Less is more.
Looked at the Imagine Products but to pricey for what I need. Looks like a great product for the person that shoots a bunch on location and needs to dump the cards off to a drive and go back out and shoot.

Interesting.

HD VU can function as a stand alone but right now its wrapped into Shot Put Pro which is worth every dime it costs as far as I am concerned.

I get mine to play on Windows Media Player but without sound. This may be because I have my camera set to record in PCM audio. I'll test the different (default) setting later.

I own Shotput Pro, but don't have HD VU....is there a different way to purchase the software to get it? I had a look at Imagine's site and couldn't actually find any mention of HD VU, just HD logger (which also includes Shotput Pro) - is this way people are referring to?

Try this: You can download a free trial copy. I use it to make .mp4 direct from the .MTS files for client previews.
And the Turbo dongle option does speed up the process a little.
