Attaching Nikon lens to GH1

Thank you very much, fellas:) Do you all know if there is much difference between the Nikkor 1.4 and the 1.8?

They are both great. Sometimes the 1.4s will show flare easier and lose contrast when it's pointed into light, but both of them are very nice and sharp.

Right on! The whole interchangeable lens thins is very new to me. I've been shooting on an HV30 for a couple of years now. Wide angle, not wide angle, wide angle, not wide angle. It was always that simple...

Can you guys recommend any good books or tutorials on DSLR filmmaking? I'm most likely going to be getting a GH1 soon.

Peace,

Trey

I doubt there is one. You simply need some lessons in Photography and be patient and read and learn. The internet has all the sources you need.

That seller has a nicer one with stepless aperture control and works with more types of Nikon lenses for not much more money.

Randy

Thank you, Cavemandude. Where exactly are you seeing this, and what is a stepless aperture control. Forgive me as I've been shooting on an HV30 for the past two years.

Thank you for the help,

Trey

This one here looks like something you may be referring to. Sounds like this can be used on just about any Nikon lens. Would this include NIKKOR? I'm assuming yes.

Thank you very much for helping. As you all know it's quite a chore switching rigs:)

Don't know anything about that one, you be the guinea pig and try it. I'll stick to ordering stuff from the USA that I can get quickly and I know works.

Problem setting the aperture after attaching a Nikon lens.

Problem setting the aperture after attaching a Nikon lens.

Hello.
I attached the lens (Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AI) alright, set the camera to " shoot without lens", everything works fine, but when I set the dial to A-mode, I cannot choose the aperture with the wheel. The aperture always reads 0.0 and there is no change when I turn the front wheel. Pressing it simply doesn't toggle away from exposure compensation into aperture control. Am I missing something or making a mistake?
