Anyone get an iPAd yet?

Well then, if the nephews couldn't put it down...:)
(My 5 year old niece does the same thing with my cat)

How good is the cat in accessing the internet, and downloading netflix flicks?

Pretty good with e mail. :)

We have a new kitty named Gabby.

Couldn't put her down either.

Neighbor came by today who isn't tech savvy.

Spent 10 minutes with our iPad, and the next three hours trying to find one in the area to buy.

If you don't get, I understand.

But a bunch of people do.

There are some early apps, and rumored ones that turn the iPad into a control surface for CC, for switching, etc.

Should be interesting

Speaking of cats....

We're just about to meet with our first major software client for mobile and iPad. A major national magazine. Really hoping they listen to some of our ideas on this. So far, the magazine apps I've seen are really unimaginative and certainly not worth paying for.

An iPad case that transforms it into a notebook (without the real notebook functions of course :D)

The possibilities for the iPad are incredible, for an indie board I'm amazed at the lack of imagination of things it can be used for. It's not hard to develop software or hardware for it, Apple makes it so simple.

Sure, an app that wirelessly coordinates script revisions, call sheets, transpo forms, PA allocation, schedules, meetings and budgets, that intelligently distributes information based upon crew position and authority, with a walkie feature plus video as required so that meetings can take place on a distributed basis.

I also see grips eating them, in large numbers.

The mirror like surface could be used as a reflector, you could Also lit a car interior with it.

Jokes aside, what sad max says sounds interesting!

If it can run flash or flash-like apps it would be a very handy self-contained playback device for animated graphics on set.

Cloud computing may not be great, but its EASY and thats what sells in the world.

I agree that this is where we are headed. Heck, we are already halfway there. But, what I don't understand is that if Jobs wants to be forward thinking (so that he can someday rule the world) and one step ahead of competitors, why not launch his own Google? Why not have an Apple-run, always in the cloud, search engine?

Because apple is a hardware company. Jobs' brilliance with iphone/itouch/ipad is that other people make the software for his hardware, and he still gets a cut of it.....

Well, the deal with Job's is that Apple is a well run hardware/software company. He teeters on both sides. He has just enough software for his hardware to ensure his stuff is relevant. But, I think it's not just brilliance that explains his success. It's lack of competition. He's never had a company challenge him. Which explains his prices. But, in spite of that, they've remained innovative, interesting and at the forefront of technology.

So, I still don't understand why they don't just launch an iSearch or something ruther....
