Gonna have to chime in on the Mac VS PC sub-discussion. I really don't see that being the case here. Most of Mac VS PC revolves around the OSX operating system VS Windows. Since the iPad uses a mobile platform and is an entirely new type of device, it's really not the same as a Mac VS PC discussion.
I think the discussion I'm seeing here is regarding whether a device like this is useful and relevant, whether it was made by Apple or Sony or Dell. It sounds like everyone who has used one and has any basis for giving their opinion says YES, and the only people saying "no" are those who are either against Apple products in general or focused merely on specs. The fact that it is Apple, to me, simply means it was executed with a level of perfection you don't see from other manufactures.
I'm sure that their may be some undertones of Apple VS non-Apple, but I doubt that's the case for most people involved in this discussion. For example - I love the iPad but I'm a heavy PC user and technical DIYer. Yet I think it's a really great product. For those skeptics, why not just clear your preconceived notions and go try one out? You won't know if it is useful until you use one. Bottom line is, if you've used it, you love using it. It is already changing the way I use technology and redefining the roles each device plays in my daily life.
