Anyone get an iPAd yet?

Gonna have to chime in on the Mac VS PC sub-discussion. I really don't see that being the case here. Most of Mac VS PC revolves around the OSX operating system VS Windows. Since the iPad uses a mobile platform and is an entirely new type of device, it's really not the same as a Mac VS PC discussion.

I think the discussion I'm seeing here is regarding whether a device like this is useful and relevant, whether it was made by Apple or Sony or Dell. It sounds like everyone who has used one and has any basis for giving their opinion says YES, and the only people saying "no" are those who are either against Apple products in general or focused merely on specs. The fact that it is Apple, to me, simply means it was executed with a level of perfection you don't see from other manufactures.

I'm sure that their may be some undertones of Apple VS non-Apple, but I doubt that's the case for most people involved in this discussion. For example - I love the iPad but I'm a heavy PC user and technical DIYer. Yet I think it's a really great product. For those skeptics, why not just clear your preconceived notions and go try one out? You won't know if it is useful until you use one. Bottom line is, if you've used it, you love using it. It is already changing the way I use technology and redefining the roles each device plays in my daily life.

The real test of the iPad for me will be NAB. I'm not taking my laptop with me, just the iPad. If it can keep up with my needs for that week, it may be a keeper.

That's what my T2i is for. :D

Unfortuntately the iPad Camera Connection kit (with SD card reader) isn't out yet. So I may have to use the iPhone camera.

... you'll be the guy lugging around an iPad with a T2i around his neck. Bring good shoes!

(and maybe a back brace too.)

Hey, I'm shedding 3 pounds by leaving my laptop behind. I might even bring the 5D instead of the T2i, just to spite you Zaza.

LOL! Hell, bring both... I saw a guy on a unicycle with a steadicam last year... he's got nothing on you.

I just got back from the Apple store, I tried to log in from there but I forgot my password, I guess if I clear my cookies I wont be able to post again.

I really like it, iPad=sweet!

The screen looked REALLY good, the girl that helped me looked even better, I almost bought the $499 wifi version from her even though I'm getting the 64g 3G one in a couple weeks.

I'm really looking forward to my 3G iPad, when I was holding it I thought about taking my mountain bike gloves (fingerless) and putting velcro on the palm and a piece on the back of the iPad so I can Spidey it to my left palm, stick it on the dash of my car, stick it to my refridgerator etc.

What a great little mobile entertainment / web platform. Looking forward to getting the 3G version.

Now THIS is sweet....

oh man, you need to do the password recovery thing, so when your ipad comes, you would get a "better web experience" while making a post on this forum.

That's funny. I made the same comment earlier about using Velcro to put one on my fridge. And I may just do that.

Probably once it's old and I've moved on though. Like in 3 months or so.

And the wheel.

Yes... Yes they did.

A buddy at work got one yesterday, I was surprisingly impressed with it and would now like to get one. It's not going to replace all my existing devices, but would be a nice addition to my current slate of technology.

I've thought of several instances in my daily life where it could be a useful gadget to have on hand.

Now to start saving for one ... by the time I save enough I might be able to pick a refurbished one up for cheap :)

that's what we need in our lives right now, more gadgets that will not replace older ones.

just pile up the gadgets in the batmobile.
