In Europe its told that first AF 100 comes in a NTSC version, Oct/Nov and the PAL comes in Dec.I haven't been given any news on release date, so I wouldn't expect to see it before midnight December 31st (that is, after all, the "end" of 2010, right?) Any sooner than that would be good news. I'll ask for an update, but so far they haven't said anything different than "end of 2010".
For me, it's like getting excited about hooking up with the ugly girl at the dance because I heard she does a mean tango.

yeah ...Did you follow the link? Product is explained there.
Not sure what this means. All AF100s are both NTSC/PAL, and all of them will be released in December. There will not be any AF100s available in October or November anywhere in the world. There might be more prototypes for testing, but not released for sale.In Europe its told that first AF 100 comes in a NTSC version, Oct/Nov and the PAL comes in Dec.
But it that if all works out well in final testing

Yeah, I'm scratching my head on that one. AF = "Appropriate for Filmmakers"? I don't know... I told 'em they should call it the "Green One" but ... yeah, got no traction with that...I know this is a silly statement, but who comes up with the names for these things. I appreciate 100 as it conjures fine memories of the dvx and the original affordable 24p revolution. AF has always meant autofocus. This camera doesn't even come with a lens, and will likely be mostly used with manual focus primes, so wouldn't MF be more appropriate.
Either way, bring it on.
