"Acceptance" by Kyrre Larsen

I've only just started watching -- but this was pretty damn good!
Very good performance.
And the people were so beautiful looking. Often times in these flicks people sacrifice performance to get the pretty face -- but you got both worlds.
(The actress [sister?] was adorable)

"Binds the galaxy together" had me chuckling with that storm trooper head. In fact, your interpretation of being on mushrooms was pretty close to a trip I had in high school...frightening. (aside from the dead dad of course)

Other than some pretty bad sound out in the woods (which i can understand) this was a very good movie.

I have to say, the cast looked really good in this one. (nogayness) The shots of him running at the end were shot perfectly. Great film.
 
Really well shot, and you did an excellent job directing, the acting here feels very genuine.

I am confused though, what happened at the end? What was he late for and what was that? His father's funeral?? I've been thinking but have no clue.

He was late for his fathers funeral, yes. Kinda disappointing to hear that not everyone catched that. Perhaps I should have intercut more to make it clearer.

No, you should NOT have intercut more to make it clearer because it was fairly obvious already. I thought the story was well told and it gave the audience just the right amount of info to A) understand what's happening, B) care about the characters if they like these kinds, and C) to allow the audience to fill any gaps with their own ideas, experiences, or interpretations.

I think the cut is fine the way it is. I suppose the only thing I was curious about was the guy at the beginning outside of the club. It made sense to me, but I wanted more because it seemed like an intriguing relationship. For this cut though, it's fine the way it is.

Again, great job!
 
This was a good loss fest film. It made the point. It was shot well and the story moved nicely.

I just would have left out the puking scenes. Or do it where we don't have to see it.

Other than that well done.
 
and I would leave the puking scene in. There is enough that can get in the way of capturing a real moment and it makes all the sense in the world that what he is doing would lead to retching. I am glad you didn't try to play it safe and not show that.

Nice work, I really dug this.
 
Nice entry. I thought you did a good job on this.

I was a little thrown with the switch to English and then back but it seemed to work in a surreal way.

The sister was quite attractive.

I thought you did a good job of telling your story.

The only that that really bothered me on this was at 00:58. I liked the cut but the total absence of noise even ambient room tone had me momentarily wondering if you'd lost your sound or if something had happened to mine.
 
I really liked this a lot. The theme, the acting, the cinematography, all top notch. I think you did a great job casting this, everybody did a great job and looked great. One of the strongest films so far to hold up after a second viewing.

Thanks Lawsuit. I just got a bit worried how probably others also had trouble understanding the point of the whole story. Really comforting to hear you object to that. :)

Favorite thing about the film: I like the whole last minute or so when he makes it. I also like the look of the film a lot. Lots of style.

What would have made me like the film more: A stronger conflict could have helped. The audience doesn't really find out the conflict until late in the film, and even then, we don't know if this guy actually liked or even knew his dad... so is he trying to get there just because he feels obligated or because he truly wants to.

Favorite shot: I had a lot of favorite shots. I really like the shot of the guy looking at himself in the mirror as he talks to the protagonist who is sitting to his left. It's at 2:36. It's very fitting of that type of character to be kind of into himself.

I think it would be a bit hard to dig deeper into the protagonist during the 6 or so minutes. I did think about it, but didn't wanna squeeze in any cheap flashback moment where he's having a good time with his dad. But I can see your perspective.

Great camera work! Nice colors! I liked editing and colors very much.
But the story is not very strong.
 
This is one of those of those films I had to watch again to fully grasp the scope of it all. I must say, that I now pretty much agree with everyone else. This was a really good film. I do believe it will make the next round.
 
This is easily one of the best looking films of the fest. In fact, I think it might be my favorite in terms of cinematography. Really liked the compositions. Really liked the grading. Good stuff all around.

Some of the sound wasn't great - especially the footsteps in the running scenes, but it wasn't bad enough to distract me entirely.

The acting was good and kept me interested in the characters.

The story, however, did not keep me entirely interested. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult, I think, for the film to be a memorable one.

It's worth repeating, though, how great the look of this film is. Awesome stuff.
