I was curious if anyone had received his or her AC160 book by Barry? I sent mine in the same day I received my camera, which was October 18th. I'm not sure if it was off the press yet, but I would think it may be until now.

Awesome. Looking forward to reading it over Christmas. Hope they got my mail in card okay.

gonna buy and hopefully get it by Christmas via Amazon...thanks Barry. :) but sending to this part of the world, Amazon just reassured that it will arrive AFTER Christmas, haha...Anyway, will still buy it and wait.

I got my book yesterday via UPS. Thanks a lot Barry, I'm enjoying it, as I have your others.

I live in Mexico..my production crew lives in Ohio. They just got the "books". They emailed me and said "Oh, my God..I wish we'd had these before we started filming! Translation:
These are awesome books!!..Thanks Barry.

I received Barry's book last Tuesday via UPS, and boy have I ever been enjoying reading it. As someone who is both new to using Panasonic products and also with this being my first pro grade camera, I've been struggling quite a bit with the sparse factory manual. Barry's book has been a dream come true to me. It is exactly the kind of documentation that I was looking for to help me use my AC130. It is such an easy read, and he explains things so very well.

If you buy either the AC130 or AC160, you really should pick up Barry's book. I highly recommend it.

That is exactly the same thought that went through my mind once I started to delve into Barry's book.

Thanks Barry, Also got my book and it makes you think about proper setup before shooting. I am even thinking about using the book to help me make myself a little cheat card, so I remember the important parts of set up before shooting.

Now, if only someone could make a step by step guide to get the best possible footage to SD Dvd from HD camera rendering and scaling.

Glad you guys are enjoying it and finding it helpful! That's always very gratifying to hear. Share some footage when you can!

You can say that again.
I wish someone came up with an EASY solution. (I am aware of the 'million' step processes to making a DVD) but I wish someone came out with a simple- click on a few settings, hit enter and walk away and come back with a sharp clear picture.

If you did that and put it up for sale in Amazon, you might be able to get some sales on that!

Still waiting for my book to arrive. Seeing how much you guys liked it, I really can't wait!

Can anyone get the scene files to work? I copied the private folder to a camera formatted card and tried to load them. All 4 files (extremes, flm lk1) showed up in the camera but when I tried to load it said it failed. Now for some reason after I reformatted the card I can't copy the private folder over from the CD. I wanted to just enter the scene files manually, as I want to save a few from each different group but it seems the numbers don't go up that high. In other words for the lolite, detail is to be 15 and my camera goes to 7. Any help?

Is this really a problem? I've never had any trouble...? I generally export 720p ProRes from FCP, send that to Compressor, then DVDSP... great results!
