There's a readme.txt that should explain the proper procedure for getting the files to load. Make sure you're using the right directory for the right camera (USA, EU, etc).

As for the numbers, no, you can't just copy the numbers over because the numbers in the scene files don't correlate directly to the numbers in the camera menus. For example, the "15" for detail is based on the notion that "8" in the scene file = "0" in the camera. So "-1" in the camera is actually "7" in the scene file, and -7 in the camera is "0" in the scene file.
 
Barry, I tried both the AC160P and AC160JP (or PJ, don't remember) and it failed to load each time. Unless my card is bad, which I doubt, I think it will be easier for me to make a chart, if I can decipher your math here and enter the scene files I want, since I'd like to have a few always stored from the 4 folders you provide. Can I assume that if the shutter angle says 360 degrees, that is the same, as well as the gamma, knee and DRS options? Or maybe I should just bother someone that has loaded the scene files and ask for the proper values...
 
Save some scene files onto your SD card from the camera, and then compare the file headers to see what's different. They really should work...
 
If you bought through an authorized USA dealer, and have an official USA unit, there's a redemption coupon in the box. Just fill it out, put in the serial number, and drop it in the mailbox.

If you are in another country or bought a gray-market unit, there won't be a coupon in the box. In that case, you can just order a copy off of Amazon.
 
i bought mine from b&h photo and i did fill out the card and dropped it in the mail today. how long might int take for delivery to nj
 
Probably around a week to 10 days. Card has to get to us, then turn around and package be shipped back, so ... probably 10 days or maybe less.
 
Hi Barry, are you interested in a translation in Italian language for your book? I can do it, if you want. Here, in Italy, we have a large AC160 users group...

It will be updated at some point, but the changes are pretty minor so I'm in no huge rush to do it; it'll probably be updated within a few months.
