A7s sample footage

Shot some test footage with the a7S and the Canon 17-40mm in the evening. All hand-held (no IS) with custom picture profile.

Question to the gurus and the A7s owners/users: maybe it's Youtube/Vimeo, but each time there is a fast object moving in an A7s shot, I have the impression that the movement reproduction is unnatural, jerky-like. I'm not talking jello effect here (unless it's related?), but how fast movements are reproduced.
I would expect some nice blurred images instead... Is that because people use faster shutter speeds than 1/50th to compensate for those ISO3200 minimum in Slog2 mode?

Shot a short film on the a7s yesterday, just to test it out and see what works and not. A dimly lit room ofc to test low light. Only stills for now with a quick dirty grade (too much for my taste and not matching too good, but I also wanted to see how much I could push it. It's quite flexible), just levels and curves, no LUTs or film convert. Will do proper grade when I've edited the short. Used Kholi's SLOG (really like it, man!). Canon 24-70 f/2.8. Started out with FF, but switched to crop mode when I felt that I needed more tele. Didn't really see any difference, stayed at ISO 3200 all the time.

Hi, thanks for all the useful information in this thread. I am looking for an adapter (Nikon G to E mount) for the a7s. I know that the metabones works great, but is there any cheaper adapter that is worth? Thanks.

Is there a way to change exposure during the films, so it is not distracting with A7s? I mean, if you change ISO or Shutter speed it "jumps" to the next exposure and not goes there gradually. I know some cameras have it, but can not find this in A7s.

Here is a screen cap from our B camera on a feature shoot. Setting is Kholi's PP7. 1200 Watt par HMI backlight with 1 12X12 Lite Panel and 2 Tweenie's for fill. Voigtlander 75mm at around a 4. May be APS-c mode. Don't have camera notes handy. Looks great against F3 in Slog. Haven't pixel peeped because I just don't.women in the wndow.jpg

So I've created a custom LUT around the default settings of the S-LOG 2 profiles. The only thing I've changed is using +23 saturation (this still uses S-Gamut colour). Here are some screengrabs of a recent shoot I had in Switzerland.

I'm fairly sure I've nailed skin tones now, as well as kind of having a canon like reproduction to the colours.

Eventually I plan on sharing/selling this for a small price. Ideally if people could share some more footage for me to grade. (that's based on a more real life shooting scenario that would be great.)

What kind of footage are you looking for? I've been testing the camera out and so far really haven't liked any LUTs for it... the slog seems quite different than the slog on the fs700.

Alot of footage I've shot has been daylight landscape stuff. Ideally I'd like to try it on interior shots with mixed lighting. Also professionally lit scenes such as interviews/performance.

Most importantly i would like to ensure the LUT handles all scenes suitably well.
