a6300 news

It appears the videos are no longer available...? They dont show up on the ".../videos/" page. I wonder if they got in trouble for posting actual footage with pre production units.

[firehawk]

Well shucks. Maybe later I can find some real footage files

[Chris Joy]

The first samples seemed to have vanished, Sony must have put the kibosh on them. It ships soon, we'll see a flood of footage then.

How does one delete the Internet?

I downloaded the footage off YouTube and did a color grade with it. It held up fairly nicely!

Nice Colors Dave!

Nice Colors Dave!

Thanks! Used a mixture of Color Finale and Film Convert to grade it.

This camera might be quite the performer. I will keep my eye on it.

Rolling shutter is definitely still an issue though, at least at 24p.

is it normal for A series bodies to not track the eyes when the person is running towards you? See the 1st min of footage for a6300.

interested to know whether a7rii exhibits the same issue as well.

Hmm... I noticed moire on the orange vest and aliasing on the grill of that van. I thought it would be cleaner than that.

Awesome news about the overheating. Would love to know
if the color science is the same as the A7sii.

I downloaded the original clips when they were still available. On thing that susprised me is how well the vest texture appeared: it's the kind of thing that compression will kill, but it looked just great. I believe what you are seeing is the product of a bad rescale by YouTube (which BTW is a strong argument against uploading 4K material to YT: until most people are ready to watch it at 4K, it's probably better to create a good 1080p file and upload that).

Great news regarding overheating and base ISO in Slog. This baby is looking better and better by the day.

Rolling shutter seems to be bad as the worst of the lot. Good on sticks, but for handheld too bad.

At 4k 24p, anyway. I imagine the other modes will be better.
