7D vs 5Dmkii CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE?

And the winner is...

And the winner is...

I was really amused by all the guesses.

YES! It was a trick...but it wasn't all 7D footage, it was all shot with the 5D markii.

Thank you for participating! Now I think I'll just stay with this camera since hardly anyone can tell the difference anyway.

hardly anyone can tell the difference... Not exactly the best way to see if people can find difference when you imply in your post that one or some of them are the 7D, giving people the impression that we have to guess between.

Was the goal to try and see who would think it was the 7D based on the 24p look? The truth is none of them looked like 24p, just very high shutter. So if your goal was to try to feel like you can emulate the look, then it was not successful, cause they all looked like 30p, just difficult to distinguish between 30p on the 7D and 30p on the 5D.

But if that wasn't your goal, then yeah, successful i guess. And fun none the less! hehe. Just hope you weren't after the "i can fake the 24p look"

I thought it was a good trick. It might piss some folks off but it does kinda put things in perspective.

Yes, I think I am going to change mine as well... I think they are all 7D.

When do we find out? :engel017:

For more accurate results I would have throw in a 7D. It isn't as easy to tell cameras apart when not comparing "side by side".

On a more practical note, for faster motion stuff I would go with a 7D anyway. The only two differences I am concerned about with the 5D are skew and DoF at low light. Then again super low light makes you consider a 5D.

And on an even more practical note... yup, not a big deal, so not a bad choice to just stick with your 5D (or 7D if that were the case).

This only pisses me off cause the time I wasted watching some dudes lame ass hippie vacation videos thinking I might learn something about cameras.
Try mixing up cameras next time, and really see if anyone can tell the difference.

But hey, at least you got some more views.

hahaha awesome

5d was teling on some videos.. wide shot with shalow depth of field. Some were stopped down so I couldnt tell the difference

Great idea. Now, dont do this again. Hahaha unless it really does have fair comparison

Here are a few images that i've grabbed from the world wide web project. Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to distinguish which of the two fruits is an orange and which one is a coconut. Best of luck!

#1 is definitely the orange

i want to say that #2 is the coconut but i sense that they may both be oranges.

i think the top orange has a definite 24p look while the bottom orange looks like it may be 60fps slowed down in post.

if you put a PL mount on the top one you could compete with RED. but what would you call it???
