7D + indislider mini

A bit wobbly and shaky..just like mine. I have to shoot it 3-4 times..to get it to look decent.

yea, the shake appears to come from the slider unit. i don't think it looks too bad though. though i have captured some footage that didn't look smooth at all lol

If shake from the slider is noticeable, it's bad. But it's not just the shake and wobble that are going on here. There are shots where the speed of the slide would suddenly jump, and that's jarring for the viewer. Handheld shots were really shaky, assuming htose were actually handheld (e.g. closeup of the guy in the mirror). Plus, focus was a huge issue. Shooting super-shallow DOF is really annoying when it's in every single shot without necessity, and it makes following focus a real challenge. The shot at 1:30 was hard to watch, since the focus kept going in and out without really following anything obvious.

It's going to take practice. I'd suggest working first to on slider moves with smooth starts and stops, and consistent speed. Once you've figured that out, then perhaps start trying to add things to the slider moves like pans, tilts, and rack focus.

Thanks C2V. I appreciate the feedback. Everything noted. And practice is what the video was for. The mirror shot was shakey, it was on my 85mm. I have a shoulder mount but the quick release adapter on it is broken. i bought it used, and it came in bad shape. I've been waiting nearly two months for my replacement from B&H, it's pretty frustrating to have been waiting this long. I hope you'll take a look at the next video I post, it should be a bit better :)

I liked the last 'cobra retrieval' sequence. Best use, subtle :) Theres noticable judder on the 85mm, did you use a tripod on the cobra close up? or just handheld? stupid question prolly haha
