7D + Camera Motion Research Blackbird --- First Day Testing

The footage isn't very pleasing, but it gives me an idea of what it's capable of and how much I need to practice. I owned a Varizoom DV Sportster w/Flowpod back in the day, and think this is so much better.
I figure some more practice and some software stabilization should make this just about perfect.

Oh I hate it. I shoot almost everything in the summer and plan in the winter.

It was just a Canon 7D, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter, and Camera Motion Research Blackbird.

Were you able to hand held it for long durations? Does it put any strain on the forearm like the Glidecam?

I can hold it longer than any other stabilizers of this type. It's pretty light to begin with and all the weight is directly above you so there's no strain like with other types.

that's the best test video ever. i'd watch whatever you made with any camera. some people just know how to shoot. you have that.

This looks really good, the Blackbird seems pretty overpriced though. Or am I crazy?
