$65 Loupe on T2i it rocks!

Because the number of posts a user has automatically proves legitimacy.... I bet it's the illuminati that's behind this

Hell yes, Common sense is enough to tell me that if someone has a high number of posts, they have been around for a while, and that gives more insight to the reputation of the praticular person. Im not saying that if a person has a high number of posts, that it automaticaly makes them honest. But it does show they have time invested into the forum, and that they have most likely shown traits into their personality. Obviously it's a gamble. I think he was just saying, "Hey think about what your doing for a minute, it could be a scam" Which to me is pretty cool. He obviously doesn't want to see people get burned out of their hard earned money. Thats all im saying.

I totally appreciate people looking out, I just doubt this is a highly orchestrated scam but who knows

This thread was started as a way for me to share info about what a great product I found at a great deal compared to everything else on the market,

I had happened to ask the seller about a group buy price which he said would be $50 bucks at 50 units which is a whopping $15 dollars less than what I paid. People on this thread have now bought on there own the same thing from the same guy and been happy.

If you've ever used eBay you know the odds of getting cheated now as a buyer a pretty much next to nothing.

Now all this nonsense about it being a scam is getting very old - it makes it feel like one shouldn't even bother sharing things like this because people just start blurting things off without having a clue what they are talking about.

The sellers account follows http://myworld.ebay.com/flash_diffuser/

If you want once check out his Ebay account and there should be some more for sale in a week or so according to him.

Enjoy

…...and a frame which may sit on the t2i's light sensor.

Just to be clear, it's a a Display Off Sensor, you can read about it on pg 146 of the manual. And it will most certainly be covered up, at least it was a little bit the way I mounted mine. As stated, this Capa model was designed for the 5DII, but overall, it's a pretty good fit.

I really like this thing so far. Would have probably held out for the LCDVF had I known about it. Only because on that one the frame is a perfect fit. The loupe itself is pretty nice and now I can see what I'm focusing on in bright sunlight!

I'm truly amazed at the number of acounts in this particular thread that have less than 30 posts and are totally in when it comes to handing out 50 bucks

My theory is no scam…..just a lot of new school DSLR users hungry for a good deal. It sounds like a lot of legwork & running around to save a few bucks. I'd just bite the bullet and order one solo.

lol. In the 7d instruction manual, it's called a "light sensor." After downloading the t2i's manual, I see that it's differently-shaped and located above the screen, in addition to being labeled dissimilarly. On the 7d, it's round and to the right. Another example of the $900 difference hard at work.

So if you cover the sensor, won't that turn off the screen?

I believe it will only cover it in still picture mode, though I may be incorrect.

My assumption is based mostly on that you can't use the viewfinder with video mode as the mirror is in the way.

@ Jordan:

No, the good news is that applying the frame has no bearing on the sensor. I've only been using it sparsely over the weekend though. And roughly the upper half of the sensor is exposed on mine.

And Sure Shott, yes, the sensor only applies to still picture mode.

I'm not sure what the ultimate function of that sensor is anyways. You put your nose up to the camera, the LCD shuts off. Maybe to save battery power? You can go into the settings and override it anyways.

I heard from the seller and he is asking if I wait a bit with my order as he's working problems with Ebay. He's Chinese so I think I'm understanding him correctly.

BTW, those convinced it's a scam...there are other sellers selling this but they are about $20 more, I think with shipping this seller comes to something like $85 and others are selling for $100 with free shipping:

69 bucks X 50 people = 3450 Dollars in cash, and scamming 50 people out of such a relatively small amount is pretty safe I'd say but it pays good.

Seriously, anyone who ACTUALLY considders buying into this - re-read this whole thread, then look at all the handles who are 'in' on this group purchase, what the nicks are and how many posts on dvxuser they have. I'd say any below 30 without an avatar is part of a scam, and anyone with an avatar and over 100 posts is about to be suckered in.

Prove me wrong.

I'd say join date is a more effective way of pointing out a scam. I've only got around 30 posts and have been reading these boards for over a year at this point (I'm shy!)

That being said, I'm not in. This is like the "126 LED" litepanel knock-offs, they slowly trickle out of China until they're dirt cheap and easily available

And checking over the thread, the join dates are all over the place from people who are "in"..If you're right, here's what happened: This guy decided 2 years ago that he was going to run a scam to net under 4k by starting dummy user names and posting 20+ replies in each of those accounts over the time so that one day he could start a thread trying to convince people to buy something for 50 dollars.

You asked to be proven wrong, and you just have been. Good day sir!

FYI the seller emailed me and stated that he should have it setup for you guys to buy them for $59.99 so we shall see whats up soon, I'm going to get a second one :-D

I you are inclined to search you can find the original supplier from China for these types of things...I have it bookmarked somewhere. Usually you can tell the price the reseller's aquire these things for, and my guess is that $60 is getting close to the point where not a lot of profit is being made for the reseller. I doubt that these are going to dip down much further anytime soom, there may be some reduction but not as dramatic as somehave speculated

Just picked my loupe from DHL. Upon opening, my first impression is that the quality looks about right for the price. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with the loupe. It's lightweight, and as the OP said, you can hit focus very easily. The metal frame is for the 5dm2 but it works well on the T2i. It does obscure the proximity sensor, but if I would do it again, I would cut the metal frame around the sensor. I'm not sure if this would affect the stability of the frame too much as it is glued on tight, and the loupe being so lightweight, shouldn't pose much of a problem, I don't think.

The pouch that it comes with feels of quality construction. I was impressed by it. It comes with a quality lanyard that you clip the loupe to hang around your neck when it's not in use. Comes with a microfibre cloth which you'll need to use right away to clean the LCD smudges and shipping dust on the diopter.

I'd buy this loupe again. For the money, it's a great value.

Can you post some pics?

Thanks

There are pics already on the first page. What are you hoping to see that you haven't seen already?
