6400 Iso Trick

Not sure what trick you're refering to.

But for the GH2, you can go beyond ISO 3200 if you set ISO to Auto and shoot in either Aperture or Shutter mode. Do not use Manual mode.

To get the absolute most light into the camera, use Shutter mode, 1/25 sec, Auto ISO (and of course, open your lens all the way).

Opening the aperture is the only thing there that affects the “amount” of light coming in. However, setting the camera to manual movie mode with full manual controls will allow you to set the shutter speed all the way down to ½ of a second.

That gives you a lot of gain but VERY poor motion performance(actually unusable).

I haven’t tried this yet. However, you can turn off the manual focus zoom function in the menus(I forget where). Then it should allow you to adjust the exposure even with manual focus lenses.

Yeah I'm guessing that's for when it's a once in a lifetime shot and you'd rather have something horrible looking than nothing at all.

Yea I understand. However, I still think taking a succession of still shots is much better than shooting video at 1/2 a second shutter speed. You can always put the still shots into a video.
