General 5D/T2i lens'

I have a 550d. Can I use a lens from a 5D on it?

Do they click right on and still have AF?

Being full frame, will a 5D lens have any wierdness if used on a T2i? (if it fits?)

Will it also go the other way? (can I use T2i glass on a 5D?) does it vig?

The two cameras have the same mount. So glass from one will fit the other.

It will have AF assuming it is a Canon AF lens that fits the 5D

The 5D lens will have a different field of view on the T2i. a 50mm lens on the 5D will have the field of view of a ~82mm lens on the T2i.

A lens designed for the sensor size of the T2i will vignette on the 5D. Assuming it even fits.

yeah i heard that putting an EF-S (crop) lens on a full frame body might break the mirror.

all your auto-focus EF-mount lenses that work on the 5D will work on the T2i. but EF-S mount lenses (one's made for crop cameras), will NOT work on the 5D. and *might* break the mirror.

some third party manufacturers have lenses that will mount on both kinds of camera, but with heavy vignetting on a full frame.

Thanks
So to be clearer for me, a 50mm on a 5D is 50mm (because it's full frame sensor)
but the same 50mm on my T2i is 82ish because it's a crop cam?

If I use my friends 24 mm (5D) lens I'll get about 37-8 mm on the T2i?

kind of.

you see, 50mm is still 50mm (as far as bokeh goes, which is the blurriness of out-of-focus background). but because it's on a crop camera, it gives the effect, or field-of-view, of a longer lens (because the image from the lens is 'cropped' by the camera's smaller sensor).
