Now my question is can I simply tick the NTSC-PAL patch after loading ipowell's settings, and happily remain in PAL-land as I would prefer?
regards, ninetto
They are both still 720p but they are just lower bitrate so you can record for longer.
Vitaly,
Where is the option to change formats? I feel like I've looked through all the menus, but I can't find it! I'm asking because I'm hoping to get 25p mjpeg. Thanks!
Can you tell me more about the type of lighting and exposure you're using it this situation? In my testing of the patch, I saw comparable bitrates for both FHD and SH video modes. What I did note, however, is that bitrate drops in soft focus and/or dim lighting conditions.99% of the time I shoot in SH 720/60p mode... It seems that for the type of shooting that I'm doing with the GH1 that I may be better off using the stock settings of the GH1 rather than the 40Mbps AVCHD High Reliability Patch. The reason being is that I'm getting lower bitrates with the patch than I would get by just using stock settings.
Here's a link to the downloadable PTool settings file, it comes with the NTSC/PAL menu feature included.I was happy to hear about this settings, load them, but also add "ntsc to pal" patch...
The second I press the shutter in movie mode, everything is frozen.
