$375 for GH1 with LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm Lens w/ Panasonic EPP !

Hey guys I actually stumbled across this site when reading about GH13. Due to the fact I had gotten the EPP mail about the $375 price. Now here'sa the kicker. I added it and it was $350, so hey why not right? I was looking at getting a flip hp recorder to record my wedding coming up in July in Portland. I stumbled across this deal and thought there has to be something wrong. So I sat on it for a few day. Then said Friday ehh why not. I had no problem checking out but it was kinda a pain due to the site being slow. I got confirmation right after. Currently tracking says the lens shipped that day, however it's actually the body that might have shipped. Not knowing a whole lot about the camera or forma factor I started reading, then hit the GH13 hack and was just overly excited. Now I hit this board to find out it needed to be July or so of last year to be hackable. Bum deal, however I'm a hack er so why not. So after seeing some of the things on EOSHD I thought why use my point and shoots and the GH1 as video camera when I could have a few more. So I went back and ordered 2 more kits, same price, $350 (I'm with AOL, might be why the EPP prices are diff) So now i have 3 of these coming. I figure on using them set up static at the wedding and shooting (I was hoping for 1080p) but now looks like I'll have to go with whatever I can get until the firmware comes off one of these or there is a release. My order(s) are so far not showing anything promising by way of when they ship due to the lens being on backorder (according to the system) and the body (first order shipping within 1-3 days) yet the second order says I paid $800 for a pair of lenses. We'll see but man, I'm excited about this camera even if I can't hack it out of the box. But I have to say i havn't run into a firmware yet that I wasn't able to beat in one fashion or another.
 
Believe it or not my GH2 order on December 1st was a bigger pain in the a** than this $375 deal. They held up most of the GH2 body only orders for a few weeks because someone complained they did not get a lens with their order since they used a photo of the GH2 w/lens.

Suppose GH1 model gets discontinued today. A year later there will be no GH1 body under warranty, and I think that's a good thing.
 
I ordered the GH1 lens combo on 1/22 for $375 plus shipping and tax ($401.48) and both the camera and the body arrived today via UPS. I called today to check on my order and I was able to get tracking numbers, but the website was still saying my order should ship on 1/22.

I just logged into my account and could not find the bundle deal listed.
 
Bundle deal is still there. After getting an error over the weekend, I was able to place an order today. Thought about getting 2, but decided that one GH1 and the GH2 that I have on order (2 weeks now) should suffice :)
 
My final boring low lighting test with unhackable GH1.

WE0L, 1600 ISO, 0 EV, 1/125s, 720P60, Vibrant -2, -2, -2, -2, Nikkor 50mm 1.4 Ai-s wide open. Darn good enough.

 
I'd be more than happy to have the first bundle this week. I'm going to spend a bunch of time getting to know it. I'm going to have to come up with a interesting wa to trigger 3 to start recording for 40 ish minutes. Has anyone had any issues recording 720 p 60p for about 45 min straight? I know having 3 static cameras isn't the most artistic but I can edit later and it's more because my wife, well soon wife, set us up with a photo package thats $7k. At least this way I get to keep the cameras!

This makes me think.. Anyone able to recommend a photographer in Portland for a wedding on July 3rd? Or possibly people I could pay to shoot video with my cameras for a small fee?
 
Just two months ago I called for lower GH2 price to attract more buyers. I was scoffed. 2 weeks ago I placed GH2 body only order at $710. Still waiting.

I just got off the phone with them. Apparently my camera isnt even out of the loading dock yet. Thats pretty bad service espcially since im dealing directly with the company. I cant complain too much because 375 for the camera is a ridiculous just rock bottom price.
The lens is also back ordered.

It looks like im having a pretty bad experience with them tho. Can anyone else comments on their experience with ordering form panasonic.com?

I'm still waiting for the first one to show. My account was charged in full, then they charged me $1 then $2 for the second order. We'll see. I have the rest of the week off, I'd be nice to melt a few of my sd cards.
 
Well crap. Just received a 'friendly' call from Panny's sales dept that both my orders for all 3 cameras have been canceled as they ran out of stock. I supposedly can NOT get the bundle, and can NOT get them at this price IF the ever get them in stock around the end of the month.

I'm currently beyond pissed. It's not that big of a deal to me if they're delayed. Hell my wedding isn't even until July. But the lenses and adapters I bought are now useless to me. I'd even wait till May to get them but they can't even give me the price I got (and was fully charged for).

I think this is pretty much BS of them saying "well the bundle no longer exists". Technically this bundle never did. It was always separate pieces, not a bundle. I know this board has at least one person that bought after I placed my orders and has their camera. Lucky me I suppose. I dont have the change to get the GH2 that might never be in stock either or the 3 that I needed. Come on Panny your pissing me of and reminding me why I stopped bothering with my EPP in the first place.

I requested a call back from someone that could o something about it. Doubt I'll ever hear from them. Got a number to call... the sales number.. yeah, next.

They did charge my card but I think im still one of the few people who STILL havent gotten their camera.
I called in two days ago and she did say my camera was in "outbound" status but that means nothing without a tracking number!

Its been a week since the purchase I think I'm losing hope on the deal.
