$375 for GH1 with LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm Lens w/ Panasonic EPP !

Saw the $350 price - but will not let you finish transaction without raising price to $375. I called and story I was told is $350 price is Panasonic employee price versus $375 EPP partner price. (And they were trying to fix it.)
 
Just get it at $375... before the store runs out of it completely. At this rate GH1 product line should be discontinued soon.
 
got mine - unbelievable for this price, or i would have thought so a month ago ! geez i was thinking about buying an lx5 for more - glad i held off
 
I just have to say that I love this camera so much. Anybody on the fence needs to just buy it. I have had it a bit over a week now and I am already used to shooting with it. I also have to say that I think the lens is pretty darn good. Yeah it isn't super fast but it is a bit faster then the 14 to 140 kit lens. I find the manual focus a bit awkward compared to older film DSLR's but overall this is one heck of a lens and camera. I cannot wait for my wife to let me get the pancake lens. Heck I would prefer a Voightlander but my wife said I was nuts when I told her the price. I then showed her some $6,500.00 lenses on B&H and she said we are all a bit nuts.

If you are new to HDSLR video then I think this is the perfect camera to get at this price point. It doesn't have the same lame limitations as the Canon's and is a super cheap way to learn HDSLR production. Students should eat this deal up right now. Hell I wish I could have bought a camera like this for $375.00 when I was in art school. I actually used part of my students loans to buy a Canon XL1 kit for $6,000.00 back when it first came out. Being able to do this type of film production for this cheap is just totally insane to me. Do not worry about the silly hack. Hacking is not everything and if you shoot decent shots with good production values then you should be fine. Just keep reminding yourselves that you paid less then almost any crappy consumer video camera from Best Buy.

Apparently on Wednesday and Thursday Panasonic called me and left me a voicemail telling me there was a problem with my payment method. Must be because I used my paypal card that draws the money from my bank account as a back up funding source. I didn't get the voicemail till this morning (Saturday). Must of have missed it. Now I'm all worried because they said they would cancel my order if I don't get back to them. But they aren't open this weekend. So I have to wait till Monday and spend the whole weekend hoping they don't sell out of these things.
 
Is this offer still good? I just tried to buy it but It doesn't have a option to buy? I can only buy the body?

Edit it's still going! Just bought one!

The trick is to Register instead of login when they ask.

I think I know why video AF tracking was omitted from the GH1. It's much slower and less accurate than the AF tracking of the G2/G10. In fact, overall, the AF performance seems weaker than the G2/G10. Going for the GH2...
 
14-42 is ok.

More GH1 low lighting test. WE0L, 1250 ISO, -1 EV, 1/60s, FHD, Standard -2, 0, 0, -2, 20mm Pancake.

Dirty windshield due to the snow mess. My kid snoring in a backseat.

 
Thanks for these tests. Now if I could only order it. I'm getting a strange error at checkout. It says that the lens is "not eligible for purchase at this time". Very strange. Also, though I click on the banner with the $375 bundle price, the discount is no longer showing up in my cart. Anyone experiencing either of these issues?

OMG, PD is the most screwed up website from a world class company ever. I clicked on the $375 combo link and get a page showing a $374.96 price so I click on it and get a page showing $524.96 that says "Model in your shopping cart is not eligible for sale at this time. "

oh no! did i miss this? i'm a fan on facebook and went to the link for the gh1 combo and it's listed as being $595.02?

It still shows it available for $375 today until you click add to cart then it show what I posted yesterday in the above post.

Be aware that since Panasonic is flooded with orders for this model that it can take 1-3 weeks before a shipment date is set and another week or so for shipping. I ordered on the 26th. I asked them if the order or shipment can or is split(body comes first and then the lens or vice versa) and they said that the computer doesn't allow them to see items by itself to check if it arrived. Riiiight. She continued to give me other reasons why she wouldn't have anymore information, i.e. it's a Monday and the system is not updated. Please note that their system updates 2-3 days from... Monday? I did appreciate her attempt to placate me by saying that it would be shipping out of my state. When she said she didn't know when it would arrive in my state, the smile turned upside down.

Anyway, I'm partially being informative and partly venting because the excitement of getting the deal is becoming a test of my patience when it comes to customer support. I understand that I ordered it less than a week ago but I expect an ETA. And no, it won't make me feel any better if they gave me an ETA of a month BUT at least, I got something to hold them to.

Interesting. When I talked to customer service this morning she told me the lens should ship out right away and the body will ship out at the end of the week. But then who knows. We'll see. I also asked if she could send me a older serial number model to which she laughed and said no. Oh well I had to try.
Hopefully we'll get it sooner rather than later.
