2k image up

There seems to be a few random hot pixels (Red & Blue) in the black part of the image. I'm assuming these will be mapped out?

We have not put in dead pixel correction yet (that happens next week). We could have removed them in Photoshop, but we didn't want to do anything that wasn't real. Don't worry about dead pixels. It is just a result of showing images right out of the can. That part is easy.

Image is fabulous but there actually are a BUNCH of stuck pixels. Obviously, this will be fixed but some say this is the hardest part about making such a sensor, producing it flawlessly. The haters say that something like 80%+ of the high end sensors dont come off the line good enough to go into retail units. Getting pretty ahead of ourselves though... for now, the image looks terrific.

ash =o)

Yikes! I just saw this now.

Theres a big big grin on my face right now that i cant get rid of! Exciting stuff. :D

When you load up the Red website theres a sound.. Does anyone else hear it?

If you Listen carefully when you click on the gallery page.. Its like wierd sloshing farty sound...

..That's the sound of Sony shitting their pants.

now where can i find results on angie 25-250 HP lenses.. i want to see how much light do i get with that lens.

where could i get a pl to fd nikon mount.. or are there other really good cheap lenses.. we should start a thread dedicated to cheap indi-lenses

Amazing...!
There´s no smear and I can se every strand of hair in her eyelash. At 800% close-up the black in the eyelash is PERFECT and separated beautifully from the skin tones in her face!

There is a small banding problem in the smoke (due to the downsize?), but that is the only telling this is "video". Otherwise, beautiful!

And this for 17.500...
Jim, prepare to rub shoulders with the Lumiere brothers in the history books! :)

Regards
Hans

...and I say it´s cigar smoke.
But I can´t tell if it´s a Cuban or Dominican. ;)

...it makes me wanting a Monte Cristo No.2 now...

try more than that.. and you will find where the affordability, revolution and customers will go..

sorry my ignorance but why wouldn't we be concerned about dead pixels?.. me and my partners we have 4 reservations rolling.. can we know how it will easy to handle with this kind of hassles if it is the case?

thx

yes thats part of the 8 bit space.. gradients start to get blocky.

I admire Jim for putting up a naked frame.. without any pixel correction (which every camera has), no coring (which every camera has), no sharpening (which every camera has) and no color correction...

As for the blue noise in the blacks.. The Red team said somewhere that they fixed that recently with sensor tweaks, remember, this footage is footage they shot over a month ago, the sensor has been improved multiple times. Since then.

Tonal quality of the girls skin is incredible.

Filmmaker dont worry you wont see those when the camera rolls out, every camera has dead pixels, they use a method called pixel mapping to get rid of them by using surrounding pixel information so they all get cleaned out.. Jim's description of fixing them in photoshop was something you dont need to do on the production camera.
