GH4 2 GH4's or buy a C100 to go with 1 GH4

We shoot weddings and commercial work. I upgraded to a GH4 and 5 good lenses earlier this year. I love it but am thinking it would be nice to have something better for low light situations.

I now have a decision to make. I do need a new b cam. Question is which way should I go. Obviously matching GH4's would be easy in post but I always have to struggle in low light. C100 seems a bit pricey though. Anyone else in this boat?

Have you looked at the Sony A7S for low light? That's what seems to be a big selling point for those. I don't know how they'd cut together though - but it is cheaper than the C100. Plus, if you decide to buy Nikon lenses for the Sony, you can use those on the GH4 as well, especially with a nifty speed booster. A speed booster might also make the lens slightly faster on the GH4.

+1 for the cheaper Sony A7S, invest in Nikon glass and adapt them to either cameras. Speedbooster for GH4 makes it workable in a good number of low light situations.

The FS is a great B-Cam. The new A7s is also nice...
However, if you want a decent camera... that'll match well to the GH4, why not the GH2?
I have upgraded to the GH4, but still have my hacked GH2. With a speed booster its a pretty good low light monster.... probably find a few for under $350.

Side note, i attached a photo... but for some reason its super "blocky" when the shadows are actually very smooth. I tried to delete the photo...

The a7s' rolling shutter doesn't lend itself to handheld work unless it's in crop mode (APC) & even then I'd usually prefer a C100.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I have an online cart loaded up with A7S and two lenses, the 24-70 f4 and the 70-200 f4. I'll let you know how it turns out for me.

Just get the A7s, for low light it´s a no-brainer and there are already lots of examples where its graded images hold their own against Sonys big guns...
But mind that some users complain about ergonomics...
If you had already owned Canon lenses, I´d also suggested a used C100 though.

Yeah, there were plenty of examples I found online of both the C100 and A7s producing amazing looking images. It really just came down to the ability to shoot 60p and also SLog 2 really intrigues me. I still LOVE my GH4 though, don't get me wrong. Did a shoot last night at during golden hour with a 85mm Rokinon that only cost me $350 and I am astonished at the quality coming out of this combo. It will be cool to put the A7s through its paces too. Really curious to see if I can get them working together well or if I will end up buying another GH4. They are so cheap, it's not like it will break the bank.

If you are looking for low light performance why are you buying f4 lenses? Ever try Voigtlander?

I have never used one, but the word is the BMPCC is not a good low light shooter. Is that not true? I would love to try one since now the price is so low.

I hear you but...

I have the 17.5 f/0.95 and I also have other very fast primes. The problem is, shooting at f/1.4 all night isn't my idea of a good time. Maybe for stills, but not for video. It's nice to have the option, but it can be a pain to HAVE to shoot absolutely wide open. Sometimes it is an artistic decision to shoot with a deep depth of field, especially to show reactions in the background etc. Know what I mean?
