I used prompters :-)
And you are right about requirements.
But. iPad or iPod are very badly suited as prompters despite all this.
Either buy some pro solutions or, if you so like this, Android tablets are better solutions, at least 3-4 times cheaper and have normal HDMI output.

for those with ipad and iphones, look at teleprompt+ , for PC , q-flip
lots of prompters available, very few with smooth scrolling.

I even remember one Russian company who made small prompters
with smooth scrolling as main advantage.
 
Has anyone had any success using the Leadstart 10" with the GH2 PAL?
I can't get it to work at all. it seems the GH2 is not detecting that anything is plugged in both in the recording and playback modes.

Check your cable, especially on GH2 side. Sometimes it can't be fully plugged due to cable connector.
 
Cable seems fine as I can plug it into the TV and into the Intensity Pro, but nothing comes up on the Leadstar.
 
Mine works, but the HDMI connection seems incredibly touchy on both the TV and the GH2 sides. It's a pain for my monitor to kick out for no reason because the cable got jiggled just a tiny bit.

You need to find better cable. Plus you can carefully slightly buldge connector to make it fit more tightly.
 
im very curious as to when the dvxuser version of this monitor is going to be available. Mr. Chan would u be able to give us an estimate of how the updated monitor is coming along?

It says '720p', is it a true 1280x720p resolution panel? Glossy or matte? Battery runtime & dimensions?

As I understand, panel resolution is the same.
Case is also almost with same dimentions.
 
I tried to buy one, but couldn't get past the captcha verification stage of the process. Tried about 30 times on Google Chrome and on IE...it always failed. Probably for the best...because then I'd have to buy a couple of GH2's....and rent is due soon. :D
 
I had a similar problem using Safari and after several e-mails back and forth used
Firefox instead and the problem was solved.

Of course, this doesn't solve your problem with the rent. ; )
 
A very good thread.

Those who own this monitor (English Matte version), could you please post a short review of it on this thread? How did it perform as a field monitor with your GH2? Was it reliable for focus pulling? Any problems you ran into? Dealbreakers or gamemakers?

Also, has anyone tried this monitor with the 7D?
