••Fujinon TV Lens on GH-1...Don't Drool••

First of all, you will never find a Cmount to MD or whatever (except m4/3) what will actually work (except for macro).

You defenitly need to mod the Cmount lens to make it work with extenders.

I buyed a TC200, witch is Nikon mount.
Since Nikon is 46.5mm focal flange and C-mount 17mm (off my head, might wanna double check that), the simplest way would be to back up the mount of about 29mm.

On the lens I buyed it's possible to back it up of about 23mm, witch I will do. The extender (once modified) will allow me to get near the lens enough. If not then I need to find the correct distance on the other way, from the extender to the GH1.

What I'm gonna do, is to machine (sorry, don't know how to say that better, my main language is french) 2 tubes that screw one into eachother of about 40mm in lenght, with 15mm of screw range so I can find the correct distance that will allow me to focus correctly.

I'll be doing this next week between. And will update this post accordingly.

(the lens I buyed is for 1/2inch sensor, it might have vignetting or soft edges with the final result, i'd defenitly buy lenses for 2/3 or 1 inch if I would start this again.)

There are more simpler forms than machining. As I later learned with modifying other lenses, if you can take out the mount then you could quite possibly buy a nikon mount from Ebay for $12 and glue that sucker to the lens. You could get an M42 to Nikon converter and it works nice........

do you know if those fujinon tv lens, the c mount can be removed?

from previous posts, there seems to be an issue of distance from sensor to adaptor, something of that sort, that causes it not to work properly.

is the 2x tele you are using a nikon one as well?

thx

some mounts are easily removed..other require some work. But I've been able to remove 4 mounts with no issues. Using a 2x Nikon Tele (or canon when i use it on the 5d or 7d) works awesome.

Bengali, the mount you linked is not going the wrong way, this is for putting Minolta lenses on C mount Cam :P

Also, you are right Super8, you could remove and glue, C mount (Fujinon) Zoom usually have removable part. I'm just wondering if it would hold up well, also, perhaps you could share some information with us since you actually made it.

Did you simple removed all the spacer from the mount until you reach the Macro Ring? (if you had one on the lens you used...)

Thanks alot.

Hi,

please let me know if the f1.4 will double to f2.8 with the 2x tele extender. this would be the deciding factor for me.

thanks!

Qui

thanks.

well, I'm really curious so have to give this a try. went for a cheaper fujinon f1.7 10-105mm (half the price of f1.4 ones) and a tokina 7 element 2x tele.

I'll hold off on the c-mount until I get the fujinon. will post some feeback later.

Looked in one of my boxes with old lenses and pulled out a Fujinon zoom from an old 2/3" camera. At the wide end, it's 6,6 mm f1.8 and has an inbuilt 2x converter. I was wondering how to go about to 'convert' it to be used on the GH1.
With the 2x focal converter engaged I could get something like a 13-14 mm f 3.6 (~T4), hopefully covering the full sensor (2/3x2=4/3).

Can somebody advice in putting together some stacked adaptors from B4 > µ4/3?

Don't mind getting my hands dirty, from glueguns to locktite...

Hi,

I went over these posts again. Seems there are two ways to mount this fujinon lens?

1. if using C mount, use a 2x tele to avoid vignette
2. remove the C mount and mount the fujinon lens as close to the GH1 as possible

trying to better understand if it can be done without the 2x tele. or simply the size of the glass on the fujinon is smaller than the GH1 sensor.

thx

i've tried both. The best way in my opinion is to mount it on a 2x extender. Find some good optics like nikon...much better than el cheapo found on ebay. The better the 2x extender the cleaner the results.

I bought a tokina 7 element 2x. will experiment with that one.

would you mind sending some close up shots of how the 2x tele attaches to the fujinon. what parts of the fujinon needs to be removed?

I think that will help a lot of us who have little knowledge of machining and how to attach.

btw, did you do a custom tripod thread mount to mount the whole lens assembly on your tripod? that's one more thing to tackle.

Here are some photos of my Fujinon 2/3" lens 6,6x12 f 1.4 with inbuilt 2x teleconverter. Also I have a lens mount.

If I have the 2x extender engaged, I should get an image large enough to cover the 4/3 format with a light loss of 2 stops, bringing the lens wide open at ~T2.8.

I think I could use the lens mount block/plate to adapt to the µ4/3 mount via a reverse M42 adapter or something similar.

Advice appreciated.

Hi,

got my fujinon today. took some of the fittings off on the rear.

so the final threads here does not conform to any standard?

I measured it and get around 45mm, was hoping it was a T-mount.

I read T-mount is around 42mm O.D. and C-mount is around 25mm O.D.

any idea what thread count is on it? are you removing fittings from it

further or this should be it and now somehow mate to the 2x?

thanks for your help.

can you post more pictures all around

can you post more pictures all around

will post more pics tonight. here is a side view. the ad said this lens was for a JVC mount so that's probably the problem. it's not C-mount. So I have removed the fittings that most likely were the JVC and this is what's left.

I bought a T-mount and waiting for it to arrive. I'm going to try and file down the T-mount to get it to fit, hopefully. Don't know of any other way.

Now I understand what you are saying about back/rear focus, since turning it, it will slight go forward and backwards.

also interesting with these lens is the aperture is not fixed but continuous type.

thanks.

I've been messing around with a couple fujinon lenses. One is Cmount, the other is whatever that 3 blade mount is. the Cmount seems to be a 1/3" sensor lens, the other one seems to be 1/2 or larger as it's rear optics are quite a bit bigger. Neither seem to work even with a 2x extender. I can move things around and get an image but it's severely vignetted. Not quite as bad as without the 2x extender but still pretty bad. The distance measurements shown in this thread don't seem to work. Any thoughts?
