I want to edit and post with this!

The future of NLE and Post interface? Amazing! The RED-Team should perhaps do their own NLE? http://ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalksplayer.cfm?key=j_han&flashEnabled=1 I know this is perhaps a bit off-topic, and I apologize if so. Regards Hans

    Setup via keyboard & mouse

The RED have a USB-port. It would be sweet if the camera could be programed via a PC(Mac) keyboard and mouse or even better a laptop. :) If a laptop was used there could be a two way communications between the camera and the computer. Number of shoots, lenght, time, setups of shoots, etc. I...

    USB Flash Memory Setup

Here is one idea. Instant camera setup via USB flash memory. Instead of having the setups memorized in the camera, every unit can have their setups on cheap USB FMs. (you could have in-camera setups, but USB would have priority) Would be useful for productions were several cameras are used...

    RAW Workflow

Any thoughts about it? To my knowledge there is no NLE that can work with RAW-files? (perhaps a Quantel or some other very exotic turnkey NLE, but...) Or do someone have information within "the industry" about something "round the corner"? Regards Hans

    Windowed-4K for 2:35

This is taubkin´s excellent idea: "They could actually come up with a 2:35 format and codec, using a masked 4K capture. They capture only the part of the sensor in the middle, thus saving quite a few pixels in the compression. Using REDCODE, maybe they could stream the 2K-ish 2:35 image more...

    Log Vs. Linear

Any thoughts about it? One of the more interesting features of the Thomson´s Viper Filmstream camera is the ability to record the data logarithmic instead of linear. Could it be possible to add that feature in the RED? Regards

    HUGE-SYSTEMS 1.5GB/s(!)

HUGE-Systems (www.hugesystems.com) have a new raid called 4440 that has a data rate of 1.5GB/s. That is enough for one 4K stream or two 2K streams (uncompressed). It will be most interesting to see the RED-RAID and compare it with HUGE´s RAID solutions when it comes. HUGE also have a system...

New tech to double flash memory...

...and lower manufacturing cost. http://www.cdr-info.com/Sections/News/Details.aspx?NewsId=17096 Good news for us I think. I will be most interesting to see the RED-FLASH Magazine and how much they will charge for it. :) Regards

    Wavelet Vs. The Future

    1080p 4:4:4 ?

Hello everyone! First post here. :-) Question: It seems like the Red can shoot in 4:4:4 at 4K and 2K but not in 1080P? If so, why? (RED´s info on sensor format options, see www.red.com) Regards Hans
