ted.com is a great site. If you have a chance watch some of the other speakers too. There's an 11 year old violinist who will amaze you. Kind of makes me wish I was smart or at least had talent. :crybaby:
 
Ted is an amazing conference. Saw keyhole announced there (google earth), Rode a Segway when it was announced there and mingled with the likes of Jeff Bezos, Dean Kamen, Frank Gehry, Jeffry Katzenberg and saw Rupert Murdoch sitting on the steps when he couldn't find a seat to watch Story Mustgrave (astronaut) show photos he shot from space.

If you can part with $4K+hotel+ prepaid a year in advance, no refunds no exchanges (my company paid) it is the most amazing 3 days you'll every experience. Of course, by the end of it, you will come to realize just how much some people are doing with their lives and how little you are doing with your own!

I know. But they are also an inspiration to do more. :)
Smart people makes me happy. It doesn´t make any difference that they are well beyond me and my own intellect. They give me some hope about humanity. :)

The technique is not that advanced. It is a projector that project the image on a glass-screen and a camera that perceives what going on on the surface of the screen, i.e your fingers.
You could also probably use it as a scanner. Put a picture on the screen an you could have a copy of it in your program. Same goes for a text document. If the software is powerfully enough you could use the text as text with a word-processor.

So I think we will se it in commercial use quite soon. :)
