Wavelet Vs. The Future

Interesting.

Remember "Super Resolution?"

The idea is pretty simple: Let's say you have a 10 sec. clip of an interview (not much movement).
Now you run the footage trough an intelligent software, which detects moving objects and collects every pixel of an object from every frame to recreate a new, virtual, super-resolution object.
Then the software copies the high-res object in every frame of your clip and replaces the old "low-res" one.

Intel is working on the software, they showed some examples some time ago.

Some info about this technology:

Very cool. :)

But both Intel SR and InstantHD is for uprez already taken footage and not a codec.
Nevertheless they are very interesting. :)
