Just gonna be a decade late whiner for a minute.
Recently I purchased a C100mk2 as it was always my “dream camera” or whatever. Because I plan to use it in real world uncontrolled lighting scenarios for B-Roll as well as interviews I was curious to see how each of the stock profiles performed...
Hi all - A few years back I captured all of the home movies and short films that I taped in high school, and whittled down the 24 hours to around 3 or so. My plan was to share it with the friends who featured prominently in them, but covid got in the way, and it just sat for the last few years...
I'm thinking about picking one up on eBay, and I'm curious to hear your input. Is it impractical given the current crop of tools available?
I like everything about it, I just wonder if going the 720p route when everything else is headed 4k might be me looking backwards a bit.
The big seller...

In the black brick in the foreground, and in the roof beams of the dugout I noticed some faint vertical lines. When I went back and reviewed other footage on my computer I found that almost all of the underexposed areas or...
Hi all. I'm curious to get some input. I took this image at the highest jpeg quality my 7D will shoot, and now I am wondering where all the jaggies are coming from. The photo was taken with the Landscape setting and the 28mm 1.8 EF lens. I've taken about 5000 or so photo's with this camera and...
Hi, I'm looking to pick one up on ebay, but am curious...what would be considered low hours of usage, and what is the maximum number of hours a DVX100b could be used before I can expect it to need serviced?
Thanks for your help!
I recently rented a canon 28mm 1.8, and shot some b/w low light tests. On previous tests with my 50mm 1.8 I saw little to no serious aliasing, but was blown away by the jagginess of the footage filmed with the 28mm. All camera settings other than the monochrome were according to hoyle...
My firmware is out of date, do I need to perform each firmware update to the most recent version or can I simply update to the latest version?
Thanks for the help!
I'm trying to decide which of these to order, and have no where nearby that stocks them. Since I can't check them in person I thought maybe someone here might be able to enlighten me to the differences between them.
Thanks for reading, I'd appreciate any input you might have.
I have been doing research for the last year for a documentary project that I am hoping to begin filming this fall. It has recently been announced that a hollywood studio would be producing a fictional narrative version based on the historical events that I am hoping to cover in my documentary...
We are flying out to Germany on Monday and I am wondering what precautions I should take if any when transporting my camera. It will be my carry on so I am not too worried about it getting lost. What does concern me is the use of airport scanners...etc and thier effect on my memory cards or...

I didn't know where to put this exactly, but I felt that it was so good that I had to share it. I found it looking for 7D + 50 1.2 clips a while back, but just got around to watching it the other day. A sort of single Mom meet's The Road story....Only a little better...
I just watched "Man with a Movie Camera" for the first time the other day. I never said wow so many times while watching a film...
Any way. I went and read up on Vertov and early Soviet cinema which lead me to the concept of Pure Cinema.

It's in no particular order, and some of it may suck. Help yourself.
I am looking to do a lens upgrade and get a follow focus, but I have some trepidation when it comes to the selection...here is what I am looking at:
EF 100 F/2
EF 85 F/1.8
EF 50 F/1.4
EF 28 F/1.8
EF 20 F/2.8
EF 17-40 F/4L
I would like to get something shorter than 50, but don't know if a...

Not sure if this has popped up here or not, but it's worth mentioning. Free online/offline script writing software designed for collaboration. I've been using it for a the last month and it is blowing my mind...at times.
I am currently writing a piece that is being told sort of in reverse order where many of the expositional elements are derived from flashbacks to the events leading up to the climax of the movie. Do I need to mark each scene that takes place in the past as a flashback? Or is this just...
My 7D will be here on the 1st or 2nd, and in the mean time I am trying to learn as much as possible regarding the thread title. I am wondering what maintenance supplies I might need for it? What suggestions you might have for protecting the sensor from overuse and overheating? Any operating...
