I wasn't aware but looks like Black Magic has been working on AF. Looks like this is only available for one model and it's early in it's development but this could open up what their cameras could be used for.
Was watching a pre release review from Gerald Undone. I’m tempted to upgrade my A74.
The improvements that I value:
1. No over heating in normal use
2. Faster read out 14ms
3. Reduced crop mode in 4k 60 has same angle view.
4. Higher res lcd
5. Two usb c ports to allow one to be dedicated power...
I was upgrading the external mic on my after market car radio. It used 1/8 or 3.5mm jack so I thought no problem I've got a few of those lav mics around. Turns out they were TRS mics, never encountered TS mic before. I've already purchased TS so no need for suggestions but can anyone refresh my...
I recently ran into a situation where I'm not sure there is a way to set a proper white balance. I was filming a holiday feast where an audience are sitting a tables watching a performance while being served dinner. The venue is lit with brightly colored lights and each table can have a...
Anyone have suggestion and opinions on selling gear. I just sold a camera on ebay and was shocked they took 13.5% selling fee. I heard about Facebook Marketplace anyone sell gear there?
I'm the original owner. Works as good as when I first bought it. A few years ago switched to the MixPre, I didn't want sell it because it's such a good mixer but has sat unused in my closet. Time to find it a new home. Comes with power adapter.
I'm selling 3 of these on ebay for $45 each. They are in like new condition and have no issues. I've switched to Sony ECM-55 because they have a 10ft cable where as the AT803b has 6ft.
Atomos released a new monitor this has camera control for Sony built in and it's via USB-C with power delivery. Might also do it via wifi but usb is more reliable.

I recently got an FX30. One planned use is theater wide shot. I've been playing around with ways to monitor and control the camera.
The first option is use Sony Camera Control app. This works only downside it uses my phone and while I have an iPhone Max it's still a little small to judge focus...
This is mostly an airing of frustration. I bought a heavily discounted Panasonic X2 camcorder with only 8hrs of use on ebay but still under warranty.
1. Not surprisingly it had a back focus issue so I mailed it to Panasonic for service.
2. They mailed it back with the focus issue fixed but now...
I solved an issue I'd been having for a long time with my MixPre. I'd been getting a hum with lavalier mics. I thought it was the fault of the mics turned out to be a grounding issue with the mixer. I can't explain the science behind it but its related to a ground loop.
When I bought my MixPre...
I was recently looking into adding another lav mic to my legal deposition work and I ran across Primo mics. There's a company in England who has built lavs housing for them, called the Clippy. They're large so can be only used where you don't care about the size. They seem used mostly for...
I recently got it and used it on a performance for the first time.
I had a few issues I’m sorting through.
1. Remote: They’ve change from a clunky two wire to one Lanc. I’m have issues with my VeriZoom it woks with the CX350 but stutters with the X2. Is there something wrong with my camera or...
Anyone use them? I saw they're on sale at B&H but still think they're a bit expensive. I usually just grab a white balance off a white card...
I've seen video on how to use them. Seems most useful for film with different brands/types of cameras and getting the color to match. I don't do much of...
I filmed a performance on Saturday. I used a Zoom H5 to record the applause and space, while recording a board feed to a Zoom F3. The strange part the H5 was in sync for the first half of the show but in the second half it's badly out of sync. I thought I could change the speed to fix it but it...
I bought an X2 and it came in the mail yesterday. I took it on a job today but ended up switching it out for my old camera because when I started recording the light started flashing yellow. Does anyone own the X2/X20 is this normal?
Every camera I've ever owned a solid red tally light...
I was thinking of using a MicroDot connector. But my initial research you need an expensive crimping tool and the add on connectors are really expensive making it cost prohibitive. You could buy only the connector you need but then you're better off soldering on that connector in the first...
Why do camera companies still sell two versions? I assume it's a money making strategy but I find it strange because you'd think it be cheaper and easier to sell one camera that would do both and simply have a menu setting that defaults to the market that they're selling in.
