Hey all, long time user of the C100 Mark i - just bought a Mark ii - I have 3 STM lenses that I thought would get good use of the Facial Detection.
First shoot I did - footage is ruined. The image pulses at the edge of the screen constantly with the Facial Detection turned on. I called Canon...
As the title states, my fishing team would like to get some better footage. I have a 550D, GoPro and C100. 550D is too much a pain for someone other than myself to pick up and film something, and the GoPro just looks like a GoPro.
My main cam is my C100 - but it makes me nervous to have it...
For sale is a used Rode NTG-2 mic with box, 10 year warranty & deadcat ( everything that comes new )
I switched a smaller shotgun mic for my C100 and the Rode is just sitting collecting dust.

Just reading the reviews on the new Sigma 50mm art at - http://slrgear.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1677/cat/30
I'm wondering how this lens would stack up against my current Zeiss 50mm F2 Makro lens.
I love the Zeiss, but on occasion I do miss having autofocus.
My wife and I have quite an unusual job - as the video below will show. We've wanted to document it for a long time now, but have have been under contract with a production company as they pitched it to the networks for cable. Well, since TV would rather see Duck Dynasty than something "really"...
Hey all, just looking at some footage I wrapped up at a local event, I had the sound guy run me a line into my C100 from the board, and everything seemed good during testing, but now listening to it, it seems a bit distorted at the max volume.
My levels on the camera were never at 0 - mostly...
Just wrapped up the edit.
Edited once with titles & After FX, and another a little more cinematic. Constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks!
Filmed using C100, Cinema profile, Zeiss 50 makro, Canon 10-22 and Canon 70-200.
Edited & graded in Vegas.
Just found this on Vimeo - shame, I love my 18-35 - and looks like I will be returning the Sigma 24-105 as I want that focal length to have auto focus for run and gun.
*sigh*

I needed some stock footage for a shoot tomorrow. Thought I'd share if anyone ever needs - it's downloadable.
C100 - Zeiss 50mm Makro - Cinema Profile - Graded in Vegas
Just put it on the camera. Initial thoughts - much more solid feeling than the Canon - just like the 18-35 feel. Zoom is very smooth - same as the 18-35.
Tested - it is NOT para focal - bummer. But - it does not lose light through a zoom, constant aperture which is nice. Worth the trade off...
New lens arrives on Monday. I'll let you know what I think - since I haven't seen a review here yet.
Hope it works with the new AF upgrade.
Now to sell the Canon 24-105
After several videos and trying many different audio sources - Rode NTG-2, Stereo Videomic Pro, Zoom H1, Built in sound from the C100, we went and picked up two AKG Perception 220 microphones and ran them both into the C100.
Wow.
What a difference.
Link on B&H -...
Glad I sprung for the new lens for the C100. Between the Zeiss and the Sigma 18-35 I rarely use anything else anymore. I guess the 24-105 will stay for now for RnG type work, but the Zeiss is just a pleasure to work with. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice 50mm.
Here is a shoot I did...
Ok - so I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a fish ( blue spotted jawfish) and I wanted to show him off, so I stuck a 6000 camera in his face and recorded.
Hell, I think it's cool.
First half is hand held with the 24-105 ( for sale! )
Second half is the Sigma 18-35 on a tripod - man I love...
Just wrapped up the editing FINALLY! Three day event, over 600 people at the reception, tons of footage.
Anyhow this was shot was the C100 and majority was the 24-105, then the 70-200 and the final dance scene with the Sigma 30mm.
Cinema profile. B cam for the reception was a Sony FS-100.
Very...
