Just took out the a7RII for a little gimbal test using manual / vintage lenses that don't have image stabilization, and only depending on the a7R's internal IBIS.

This is for Resolve 10 with Dongle-- Brand New / Never Used, with free upgrade to the full version of Resolve 11. This is the real deal, and Resolve 11 is by far the most massive upgrade Resolve has ever gone through.
I'm looking for something pretty much like this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1069049-REG/wooden_camera_wc_181200_v_mount_plate_for_sony.html
But I'd much rather just use the V-mount plate I already have, and simply use a dummy battery adapter to P-Tap cable.
Anyone have a v-mount...
Has anyone ever recorded reference audio in some way via a recorder? Like if I have cheap little mic living on camera and connected somehow to a recorder, it would be useful for syncing in post. If I have to go the timecode route with an audio recorder that does timecode, so be it, but it would...
I know there were some whisperings a while back of a possible interchangeable EF plate being made by Barrett. If this is likely not to be a reality, is getting a custom Nikon mount still viable / useful on the F35?
Since I don't own any Nikon glass, what would make more sense considering I'd...
Had a blast shooting with this thing on Sunday. We shot a short horror film in low light, bright light, weak / ugly florescent lighting, whipped it around to see real world rolling shutter, and tested out the EF metabones adapter. All footage here was shot with the Canon 24-105.

Here's the online manual: http://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1420/v1/en/contents/TP0000301879.html
I'm shooting XAVC S, which I'm not sure if that natively has the Slog2 curve / LUT ? It's not under any picture profiles or anything either. No mention anywhere... kind of weird.
Obviously they're not sitting out in bulk in some warehouse... hah, but if I were to consider buying one, is eBay the best bet?
It'd be nice to get one from somewhere it's been inspected and been looked after / guaranteed to run smoothly. Is there a reseller that will provide some sort of...
I've found so little online, and so far I've only come across 2 real examples of narrative filmmaking with the F5/55. That "Dig" short film and another I can't seem to find anymore. Other than that, I've come across mostly commercial type footage.
I'm interested in seeing what people are doing...
To me, audio is almost annoyingly important. I say that because I'm not passionate about it at all... but I realize the extreme importance of good audio. I don't have the best ear or gear in terms of sound / audio-- I'm a "camera guy" first and foremost. But, I'm trying to get the best possible...
I really enjoy the sound coming out of the NT3, and would love to have a condenser like that I could boom... NT3 is just a tad big for that job. It sounds soooo much better than the AT4053b or the many others I've heard. Anybody have a good suggestion, hopefully for not too much more $ ?
Does anybody know of some visual effects studios / firms, international or otherwise that cater to lower budget indie films or work? It may not be practical to have visual effects when your entire budget is 50-75k to make a film. However, I thought I would just ask and see if anyone here knows...
After the past year and a half of using the GH2, I have finally taken a new path- a black and magical one. Just wanted to say this is a fantastic forum and I probably spent far too many hours just sitting here pouring over posts. I learned a lot, and it was fun while it lasted- everyone is very...
Pretty good movie! I enjoyed the move from a drama / slight mystery to a slowly paced thriller. Interesting story, good twist, good acting and well paced. Something I noticed about Soderbergh's films... the score plays a MASSIVE part. It's what keeps fairly straight-forward sounding dialog...
I'm having some fun with my new recorder / amp combo- recording better sounding dialog than I ever thought would be possible on such a low budget. So now in post, I'm just trying to do the super basics, a bit of EQing, compression etc. to get the dialog sounding a bit more crisp- like what you...
So, I FINALLY got my DR100 MK2 and the MM-1 together at last... and wow, I can't believe how good the recordings sound. I'm almost speechless. It's so crisp and clear without the slightest hint of gain... seriously this is just awesome.
My MK012 with the original DR100 compared to the MK2 w/...
After more than a year... I'm still doin it the hard way. I use the proprietary mounting plate / adapter for my Tripod, Gini Rig and Steadicam. It's getting ridiculous- the time spent bumbling around taking adapters on and off as I switch from rig to tripod etc, such a waste.
The most obvious...
