Any news on a custom EF plate for the F35? Try to find affordable PL glass?

I know there were some whisperings a while back of a possible interchangeable EF plate being made by Barrett. If this is likely not to be a reality, is getting a custom Nikon mount still viable / useful on the F35?

Since I don't own any Nikon glass, what would make more sense considering I'd have a 2k leftover budget max to spend on glass / new mount etc after purchasing the F35 itself:

1) Adapting to Nikon and getting a few decent stills lenses.

2) Biting the bullet and finding 1 or 2 hopefully decent PL lenses. If I go this route, I'd ideally like to have something in the 20-30mm and the 50-60mm range to start shooting. Not sure if 2k is enough for 2 solid lenses in those ranges. I'd love to hear any ideas.

You might have some luck with LOMO lenses, there is a good range of those available for reasonable prices - but get ones already converted to PL.

2k what, dollars? Don't think can find 2 solid PL lenses for so cheap. 2k pounds maybe some old ones.

If anything. I might be wiling to just start off with a $1500 50mm 1.4 Rehoused Contax PL. Those things look pretty solid. It would appear after searching some older threads Barrett was already doing EOS conversions, which I didn't even know about. I think if he's still doing them, I'd just go that route.

Unless you plan on eventually building a full 20k+ kit of PL glass, I'd go with the nikon option. So much more versatile in the long run if you're on a tight budget!

Though I already had a full set of nikons and a friend who worked in a CNC machine shop, so it was an easy choice for me :) and almost everything i'm going to do with the f35 is a personal project with a 3 man crew :)
