Optimal levels for dialogue on my DR100?

Just curious where I should be peaking, -10db or so?

Many would say -12 dBfs. Some would say -20 dBfs. I would opt for -12 dBfs with a DR100, to minimize any hiss from the noise floor, while still giving you plenty of headroom to reasonably avoid clipping any sudden really loud sounds, like laughter or shouts.

Sounds reasonable! I've been peaking at around -10 or a little higher, so I'm gonna start aiming for around maybe -12 to -15 instead.

Depends on the source.. varies form one scene or situation to the next on how much headroom is needed.
