I just visited one of the local resellers who has Sony cams and since I was looking at FS7 we also just generally talked about the other cams.
So he dished out that Sony is letting the 6 lens kit go with a 70% discount if I would buy an F5...!
Apparently Sony hasn't been able to sell their...
Ah ok, cheers guys, that puts me at rest :)
I would love to go to the Faroe Islands for this experience. It's one of those things I'd love to see atleast once in my life.
Also I just read that there will be a super moon as well on the 20th. What a day :)
So I have a client that booked me to do four interviews on friday the 20th, not knowing it was solar eclipse day I agreed.
But yesterday I found out, and basically all the interviews will take place during the eclipse. I wrote the client and tried to rescheduel the shoot till after mid day, but...

I had a couple of raw spans I hadn't figured out how to extract. RawMagic wouldn't handle them for some reason.
So I went googling and found a lenghty explanations, but thankfully a guy had commented that he had found another way of handling a broken span of raw files.
This is a quote...
So I just saw Interstellar today, which was shot on Imax, and I hands down have to say that it had one of the most pleasing looks.
I didn't notice it in Dark Knight or Inception, but Interstellar really had a nice organic feel to it, where exces sharpness didn't distract your from the story of...
Did a small interim shoot last week for a client presentation.
Chose to shoot it with raw for the fun of it since I didn't have a need for audio.
The "piece" was lit with daylight and negative fill. I shot in 1920 x 541 and scaled it up to 1920x872 in AE, this gave me recording times of around...
Just over a year ago I uploaded the following short for a local short film website here in Denmark. I didnt think it made it through. But a couple of days ago I got the mail that it had been accepted as a bubble.
This means we might be able to get on the list next week.
The latest projections...
Heya...
I'm having an issue with a track matte key that I have applied to a vignette part of my footage.
For some reason the first 75% of on clip is not using the matte but at the end it suddenly flickers on and remains on during the rest of the clips.
I have no key frames or anything applied...
So I came across this video by Chvrches and I kinda like it.
But I'm curious as to how some of the effects used were accomplished.
Mostly the performance parts of the video where the singer is in red light. There are some overlays that flicker across the frame now and again.
Are those just a...
I've bene googling a lot lately. There seems to be a lot of indie production companies bringing out their own versions of jibs etc.
But where are we in reality? Have things gotten better? More sturdy? Able to carry more weight?
I used to own a iFootage mini jib, and found it to be almost...
Heya
I'm having issues here with some audio that was recorded during an event. We had two micro port kits running into the Zoom H6 and only one channel is showing this issue.
It takes the form of a huge vertical spike in the spectrum viewer. My description would be that of a hard spike of...
Any of you have direct experience with shooting continuous recording with the 6D and 5D3?
I'm talking speeches / events where it goes past the 29 minute mark?
How does those two cameras handle it in terms of overheating? I'm doing a 2 cam setup and the budget doesn't allow for us to rent in...
7000 pounds without vat in the UK -.- converted directly without taking into account that it might be a bit cheaper in the states: 11.500 dollars.
Which makes it a game changer that only rental houses can afford.
The Oh Brother shot looks like daylight or a big light bounced outside the window. You cant really fake a large source like that with a small source closer....
I have a client that is asking if I could GoPro a time-lapse over an entire workday (8 hours). I'm imagining myself an exposure once a minute, maybe 2 at most.
I'll be mounting the camera out in the open with the bicycle mount if possible.
So I started looking, but mostly find people talking...
Quoted for truth… it really doens't take much. I was out shooting an interview yesterday and used two biax lamps; one for augmented daylight and the other for a bit of edge against the darker background on the opposite side of the keylight.
But the thing that I think stands out in nice looking...
Mostly its a 5k or 12k ;-) but the point is valid.... It takes a lot to bounce beautifully. And you cant really make it a smaller source and move it closer because it wont be the same quality of light.
There's a video on YT with DP Eric Kress (DP on the Swedish version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") where you can get an idea what happens when you bounce…. during a demo on a set with a window he bounces a 4k HMI on an ultrabounce outside the window and still ends up at T 2.3 on the Alexa...
