F5: Is that F5 with full lens kit discount world wide?

[legrevedotcom]

I just visited one of the local resellers who has Sony cams and since I was looking at FS7 we also just generally talked about the other cams.

So he dished out that Sony is letting the 6 lens kit go with a 70% discount if I would buy an F5...!

Apparently Sony hasn't been able to sell their cinema lenses, so they are getting desperate.
But is this world wide, because I don't recall seeing a rant about this here yet...?

i just checked the USA price at BH, and i can tell that its already a great price for a cinema lenses. 12900 usd for 6 lenses!! nothing out there could be close to that price! photo lenses coast same or close to it. converted photo lenses to PL coast much more then that! 2150 usd per lens its a hell of deal!

An incredible deal... but good luck getting servicing on those lenses once Sony discontinue them completely though :/

i would not expect to service it at sony anyway, - i am sure any cinema lens service can do the thing, if or when its necessary.

Sure, but I'd still strongly suggest that anyone considering buying these lenses ask around at local lens servicing places to confirm whether it can be done. If they've never handled the lenses before, there's a good chance they might just say 'Sorry, we don't know them'.

Even at such an appealing price, it's a lot of money to chance.

Is there any test footage online with these lenses? Wonder what they are comparable to?
