Continous recording on 6D and 5D3... how long?

Any of you have direct experience with shooting continuous recording with the 6D and 5D3?

I'm talking speeches / events where it goes past the 29 minute mark?

How does those two cameras handle it in terms of overheating? I'm doing a 2 cam setup and the budget doesn't allow for us to rent in better cams, so we have to deal with it. I'm considering installing ML on both cams, to be able to go past the 29 min mark as the longest speech is around 45 minutes.

Would it be better to start one camera 30 seconds later than the other and then just hit the record button again?

EDIT: Actually... it just dawns on me. There's only a 1 minute break between two speeches so both cams would be on for about 1h20m...........

Wrong cameras for the job. Recording time limit, media size, depth of field, audio, focus, just terrible cameras for this kind of work. A cheap camcorder would be way better. But you CAN do it if it's your only option. There is no way of recording continuously past 29.59 minutes on either cameras, not even with ML. What I would do is, record with one camera about the first 5 minutes, and then start recording with the other. This will gurantee coverage. Make sure you give yourseld enough time not 30 seconds to make sure you have time to change media, etc

-Another ideal solution is using an external HDMI recorder, but that of course only works with the 5D Mk III not 6D.
-By the way Magiclantern is an essential add on to any Canon DSLR video shooter for many other reasons. No way I could use them without ML anymore, it's that good.
