A video done just for the fun, showing the British humour once the first snow has arrived.
Filmed on a Sony A7S II and the 3DR Solo, the Solo was used with cablecam including the freelook mode, the Backbone Ribcage Air was used on the filming Solo with a 4.2mm lens, it looks a bit soft on the...
Filmed in around an hour then edited over 2 evenings, a look at a derelict mill, in Yorkshire, England.
Taken using 2 x 3DR Solos, both with the GoPro Hero 4, one with a replacement 4.35mm lens. More info is on the Vimeo description.
2K version here:
I've not posted in the aerial group for a long while, the 3DR Solo although making it out without too much delay has been held up as a complete package as the gimbal didn't ship with it, many people are still waiting.
This was done just yesterday evening, it was less than an hours effort...
It was announced a couple of days ago that 3DR has a new drone, also as you'll likely know DJI have also released the Phantom 3.
I'm most excited about the Solo for a number of reasons, first and foremost is customer service, I think drone/multicopter buyers get a raw deal on gear that isn't...
Just a warning that a bug has been found following a few crashes this week, it's a software bug essentially, there's a lack of a pre-arm check on the IMU so it's possible to take off when it's out of whack resulting in a crash. Given the speed of the Inspire the damage from this bug could be...
Photos have been leaked today of a test flight, judging by the patent the body must lower in flight to take the props out of shot which is a nice idea.
Filmed last night on the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 on a DJI Ronin. As the footage was at night the lens was used fully open, see the Vimeo description for more detail.
This is a performance style video, the background was pre-rendered to the music and then intercut with the live footage.
A DJI Ronin was used for this to allow movement between band members and around them, I guess you could have done similar with a steadicam too. The camera was a GH3 with an...
As an existing IRIS owner, the issues I mentioned from owning it, mainly being the limited flight time have been addressed in a new update, it's a fairly decent upgrade using a quality battery and T-motor props along with lighter arms/legs and more powerful motors and an ESC. This platform is...
I thought I'd do a quick post on this subject as it's a subject that comes up on forums regularly and clearly there is confusion on the topic.
Anyone thinking of investing in a multicopter will likely have read all the marketing information and be excited by the new opportunities aerial...
This beta website is just for APM/Pixhawk users to my knowledge, for DJI there is a third party product called Flytrex http://www.flytrex.com/ which works in a similar manner.
The Droneshare website allows users to upload their telemetry data, after flight and I believe also real time in...
As news goes it's not entirely a surprise, I've posted myself on a few groups in the past that I wouldn't be surprised to see Colin Guinn turn up at 3D Robotics, anyone in the multicopter scene has likely seen Colin Guinn's videos and I'm sure his skills are more marketing than technical, but...
This video is UK indie band Kascarade with Julie E Gordon, former backing singer for the Happy Mondays.
Filmed 95% on a GoPro and 5% on GH3 with an SLR Magic anamorphot.
Because the GoPro doesn't cope at all well in dark conditions I used Neat Video noise reducer before editing.
