I hate pixel-peeping, but I was watching The Social Network on HBO (NY Cablevision Digital IO) the other night, and it looked like crap. A lot of banding and compression that I have not seen on film-sourced material before. Anyone see this?

OK, so I'm thinking bout getting the el cheapo Canon 1.8 50mm lens. However, the focus ring looks really thin ... anyone getting that ring to work with a follow focus? 2nd question... can this lens... http://www.dpreview.com/news/1104/11042710nikon50mmf1p8.asp bet fitted on a Canon t2i?

Ok, so the Arri Alexa records @ 2K RAW. Everyone and their mother (RED guys too!) are sooooo obsessed w/ 4K for the big screen. Just read in American Cinematographer that the new film "Prom" (not my kinda film, but i'll take my daughter) was shot with the Alexa @ 2K. Im very interested to see...

I am selling a couple lenses. I know, one of them isn't worth much, but heres the deal...all these lenses are under 6 months old, in great condition. I have the original boxes too. (except for the kit lens) Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM ... what should I sell it for??? Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6...

Just read in the "AF 100 Book" that these signals coming out of the camera are 10-bit. Others here have said it's 8-bit. Whats the REAL story?

I am looking for a zoom lens, something like an 18-55 for my T2i. However, I don't want the lens barrel to "expand out" (does that make sense??) as I zoom. Does a lens like this exist? I'm happy with any brand. Any help here is greatly appreciated... John :)
