HPX170 Lens Wobble Improved

In reference to the Honda thing. You ever see the people who really trick out their Honda like a race car? Usually they put a sweet Type R sticker somewhere on it. They usually have the really loud exhaust as well. Maybe even a giant spoiler too!

Some people refer to them as Rice Rockets.

Yes, I know the term "Rice Rocket" but didn't see how it applied here. (and my honda is a regular little gas-sipping car, not tricked out)

Honda red, Kawasaki green, Yamaha blue. They're company colors. It's mostly just a motorcross thing.

I guess this makes sense.

...

thanks for clearing up the lingo.

Hi Guys and Gals,

Just got out of the meeting and heres what you need to do. Keep in mind that this is for customers that are in the US only, no Canadian, Europe, or dow-under customers, you folks should contact Panasonic in the country where you reside. I am told that meetings like the one I just had are taking place all over the world this week.

Now for those of you in the US, we will be receiving the parts this week Friday and will be able to start fixing cameras next week. Please contact pbtscservice@us.panasonic.com to set up an appointment for your camera to be fixed.

Thanks for being so patient,

Best regards,

Jan

Discuss your shipping needs in your inquiry to the pbtscservice addy and they will take care of you. Looking at the fix, it shouldn't take too long on the bench.

Best,

Jan

Jan,

I read in an earlier post that production had stopped... now that the problem has been diagnosed, has production started up again and have any adjustments or corrections been made to the new batches? Will there be any info as to what cameras have been corrected - by production date or serial number? I am planning on buying one and just want to be sure that it is a unit that I won't have to send back for repair.

Thanks

Hi,

Off hand I believe that any camera with a serial number of J8 or higher will have the fix in it, but we are also working with dealers that have stopped shipping and will be fixing those inventories as well. So a solid start with this serial number really won't be a good guideline very quickly.

Hope this helps,

Jan

What is meant by this?

Can you be specific on whether Panasonic is covering one way or both ways, and by what priority.

Thank you

Is the PAL upgrade available for the 170 at this point?

I would really like to just send my camera in one time for the fix & upgrade if possible.

Just received a response to my email to Panasonic broadcast technical support. I wanted to set up a service appointment and asked if I could send my camera to the LA service center.
I was told that management hadn't decided where this is going to be upgraded and to call next week.

Were there any specifics on shipping costs and options at all?

Or a time frame from shipment to return?

These are critical issues for us, particularly time frames.

Please contact pbtscservice@us.panasonic.com, they will answer your every question. Keep in mind that I cannot answer for Panasonic Worldwide, each country does it their way. Just email them David. They will get back to you. The time it takes to make the change is shorter than what it takes to fix it.

Best,

Jan

Hi,

Email again to pbtscservice@us.panaosnic.com. This is a different person. It could be fixed in LA as well as NJ. So not so much of an issue as to where, but it can be fixed.

Thanks,

Jan
