"TWISTED" - A ZazaCast Film

I recommend a DVX Hall of Fame for these kinds of stories.

Poor Chris of EasyWater Films seemed almost ashamed to report the shoot went without a glitch.

Yes... crazy stuff. Needless to say, I won't be shooting on the power line road any more!

But you'll know where to go for some bud.

Great story! Grabs look cool. Glad you got it done. How did you do the audio running solo?

This was only the first day of shooting...I can't say more or I'll give away the story, but all the stuff I shot never had any audio in it...you'll see.

We're shooting all the dialog scenes this coming Saturday. I have a promise from a friend that they will operate the boom for me.

Dude. That is the craziest story I've heard yet... and I've heard some crazy ones.

I'm glad everything worked out alright in the end AND am equally impressed that you STILL GOT YOUR SHOT!!!! You are a HERO for that, you know.

How are you liking the M2? I used to own one awhile back, and always had issues with the loss of light. I've since grown accustomed to the Letus35 Extreme, though my film was shot with the HVX stock lens.

I'm still learning. I'm using it with the 100b...I know one thing... the rig gets heavy after a bit! ...and I keep forgetting to turn it on...DUH. So I had to redo a few shots. I'm still experimenting with lenses too. I have a 24mm, 50mm, 85mm and just picked-up a 135mm. I guess one of those director lens things would be nice to use to frame the shot & pick the proper lens. I was using the D90 to get an estimate and it seemed to work.

Glad you enjoyed the "Power Line Road Incident" ...wouldn't have been half as funny if I ended up in jail! Thank God the actors have a good sense of humor...i'll know for sure if they show-up for the shoot this weekend!:)

Dude you are lucky. Those kinds of shenanigans would NOT fly in LA... you would have been looking at some MAJOR fines...

Glad it worked out and that everyone's okay AND you got a shot off!

See there ARE some benefits to being in a nice small town...just a regular 'Joe Six-Pack' you might say.:)

...but like I said before... I learned my lesson on this one. I don't think you get too many 'get out of jail free' cards in life.

And I thought I had some trials and tribulations shooting my entry!

Way to keep a level head though the ordeal.

Good luck with the remainder of the shoot.

It's 3:30 in the morning here in LA and I'm waiting for color to render the grading pass, while reading threads on DVX user... I'm tired and about to fall asleep on the keyboard when I come across your story.... HILARIOUS!!!!! I can totally see the comedic moment of the look on your faces as the cops come out of the bushes! Thank you so much for sharing... I'm nearly in tears at how awesome that was.

Thanks Neal...

Yeah... awesome NOW...scary then. I'm still washing my shorts out...next time I try a stunt like that, I'm going to wear Depends!!!

Are you shooting right now?

...hello?

How did it go?

Yes...Yes I was shooting all day!

Inquiring minds want to know - how's it coming along?

a

All day shoot Saturday...LONG day, but it looks like we got everything. If I didn't, too bad for me, I'll just have to make it work.

This shoot has really been an adventure, like the almost getting arrested by the Sheriff's was enough...and I know this is going to be tough to believe...but we were shooting in a building (garage) out in a field....when suddenly there was a hugh ruckus just outside. I stopped shooting and went to see what was going on. I opened the door & steped out only to be almost knocked over by a bigass Llama!! YES... LLama. It seems the farm next door owns 2 of them and they broke loose. Totally wild! All I could do was stand there and watch as the Llama went running by, chased by a dog, followed by a man on a minibike, followed by 3 young children!! Laughed my ass off.

I just got a rough cut together and will post some grabs & BTS picts tomorrow.
Thanks for keeping track of the thread.

Be glad all these events happened on different dates and in different places.

Otherwise ...

... might have a few Sheriffs thinking hooded men posing as actors were poaching llamas.

How do you do it?

a

:-Laugh(DBG)-1 HA HA HA!

Only you!

I think you should have a full-time BTS video person so we can all enjoy these classic moments!
