The moment after - by Cazcam

I liked the location and lighting. One that bothered me (and I'm not knowledgeable about the technical side of filmmaking) was a weird effect on the out of focus stuff, seemed unnatural. This short was very edgy and I was drawn in. Good film.

Then I noticed the time on the clock: 20.06. Just the time when the couple could have been starting on an evening out together, but instead he's off to see his friends. And I think this is just one example of how much food for thought there is in the tiny details of a film like this.

Yohoooo, someone got this little detail!!! ;D

I´ve just noticed that the uploaded QT has some gamma shift that shows the image washed out compared with the original. WHen the film fest is done, i´ll try to upload a 1080p version that looks allright.

About sound: we had to record the whole soundtrack on the next day, because REd has some problem with phantom power that create heavy noise in the audio. So everything you hear, was not live sound.

For almost never seeing the actors faces staight on, they carried the show beautifully and captured the feeling of that unique moment in time.
I suspect that ADR'ing the sex noises helped you by making it more close and intimate. I felt like I was there.
I wasn't a big fan of the weird focus pulls. I didn't see the motivation. It seemed like a mistake, but not one of those "happy accidents".

Anyway, I was instantly drawn in, and it looked and sounded amazing. You seriously did that with 1 Kino?
I look forward to your next film. Awesome job.

Beautifully shot film of beautful people in a beautiful moment (for the guy at least!)...but I really didn't get the time connection.

But yet...it makes me want to visit Spain one day!
Very nice job.

I enjoyed this very much. beautiful actress. you said you did this on a short time frame, how were you able to get an actress to do this film on short notice? was she paid?

I liked the acting in this as it was just as phenomenal as the camera work and lighting. I felt the story was not deep enough for me but I see where you were going with it. I do not know if I feel the moments it is about are the "central theme of the short" but I can see why some would. Great work!

Nice work guys. Though I find the story a hair on the film-school-ish. But shot beautifully as I would expect from Mac, and some very nice moments in there.

This is a very nice little portrait of a moment. Aesthetically flawless, at least to my eyes. I think that in the context of a longer film, this would be an excellent, intense scene. On it's own, it comes off a little too strongly as an 'artistic statement' rather than just a nice piece of drama.

Then again I'm just a guy who decided to write a ham-fisted story about a mad scientist and a time machine. So please don't take my critique too seriously.

Your film was beautifully executed. Very nice!

Talk about a 2-minute man! There was even time for dialog in a 6 minute short film! What a crappy first time! Great job on the film. I felt really bad for the girl! Of course she apparently mad a bad decision to get their in the first place. Just ease my mind and tell me the guy isn't a jerk and he calls her back and they fall in love and get married and have kids and they all live happily ever after!

The strength of the film is the last few shots of the girl; who has been used by a jerk... and knows it. As she seeks relational closeness he gives her nothing. The sold-out hopelessness, the huge regret. is papable... you can cut it with a knife...

Some focus and sound issues, but overall, a very good film.

I loved this. Beautiful shots and you totally captured not only that moment in time, but the vulnerability and loneliness of her first time. It was like poetry (my highest compliment). Very well done.

When he stops 10 seconds after insertion and there's a long pause before he asks, "you ok?" I busted out laughing because I thought the theme of "time" was going to be applied to premature ejaculation.

That aside, all technical aspects of this film are solid -- lighting, cinematography, audio, acting, etc -- but all in all I guess it's just not my style. I'm not really the 'artsy' sort, so I wanted more in terms of story. For what you were aiming for, it's great, but I suppose I'm just not within your target demographic because when it's all over, I can't help but wonder, "what's the point?"

This was beautiful to watch, as others mentioned. I thought the score was great too. My only real critique is that the focus racks sometimes lacked motivation (especially at 2:30) and so I felt distracted, and I would have loved (LOVED) a wide shot of the girl in the empty room at the very end. But seriously, this was amazing as is.

I like the idea of challenging yourself to make a micro-short film. Maybe that should be the next fest??

Wow, a touching, beautiful film. An excellent case of how Red can be used in such a simple and yet poignent way. You did an excellent job directing, very good performances and realism, the heartache was palpable. Very good.

this is the film i'm jealous of. this is the one i wish i made. this is the one where the filmmakers and I seem to share a frequency – where i shout F*CK, THEY'RE HAVING ALL MY IDEAS BEFORE I DO!!!! the present moment is one of the most powerful aspects of time, and the easiest for us to miss. but it's where we find the truth about ourselves and it's where we have the potential to see people we've known for quite awhile as though it were for the very first time.

by stripping away the ornamentation of plot twists, turns, reveals, payoffs and contrivances, I was simply and gently allowed to be present to a tragic, tiny death of sorts. it was minimal in its arc, but epic in the human detail of this event. and like the best of films, engaged my attention in a way few others have here. for once I wasn't just TOLD a story, I was engaged with a story and invited to fill in the gaps with answers uniquely my own.

anyone who questions what this film had to do with time, knows nothing of its meaning, nothing of its poetry. this was the most profound, mature, intelligent and compelling look at time i've yet to see here. and its the only film i've seen so far that is greater than the sum of its parts.

one last thing, cazcam = mac/zac? too f*ckin' right! ;)
