Break-in...

Mr. "vegansoy" has NOT understand, what RED is. You can steel perhaps a camera and things, but you can NOT steel the teamspirit, the new way to think about cameratechnology. RED is unique. Jim I'm so sorry about that. I believe in your idea and you know why? Because it makes absolutely sense to do it that way. Innovations are rare this day so it's easy to see when a terriffic shows up.

my bullshit detector is screaming louder than a smoke alarm right now.

That screaming noise coming from your BS detector is a warning tone indicating a dim battery.

Keep kicking ass RED team.

Really though, people who steal are dipshit-asswipe-dildo-lovin-numbnuts. LET'S CATCH THE BASTARDS!!!!

This is terrible! I can't believe someone would do that, we live in a screwed up world. I'm really sorry Jim. I'm glad no one was hurt though and that the company is still firmly intact.

You can call me whatever you want, but me and some buddies at Cinematography.com do indeed feel that there is something fishy going on with this.

such bullshit. This is one time where im gonna turn the other way when you guys lay down the boots to these guys spreading this ****.. cause sometimes assholes deserve to get a little kick in the ass.

Well, Im sorry if you guys wouldnt even consider an inside job. It makes so much more sense than industrial espionage. Have any of you considered why Jim would release this information publically instead of just keeping it under wraps and not panic his customers? If I were in his shoes, and it wouldnt set me back, I wouldnt mention it to you so I wouldnt make you upset. Many companies wouldnt tell you.

Didn't you just announce your permanent departure from dvxuser.com in the cafe a few weeks ago...? Shame it couldn't have been for real.

So the word would get out, thereby increasing the chance of someone who is involved in either ratting out his partners or just scaring the hell out of them that they consider abandoning their mission and not making delivery of the material they have acquired.

What's really pissing me off are the reactions over at Cinematography.com.. A lot of those guys are really jerks. They are talking smack hinting that RED STAGED this in order to get out of producing the camera.

I hate the internet sometimes cause I can't reach though my service provider grab these bozos and pound their balls flat with a wooden mallet.

Jay
yeah those forums are tough.. i have the maximum respect for people like Haakon, Emanuel and you Jay that have guts to posting there and take the defense of the indy movement.. and Jim for sure.. he has good friends there too!..

those DoPs are protecting their business.. "their craft is slowly being eclipsed" Haakon had guts to say it there.. they are mad..

however, there is a concern about a possible delay.. even other holders are accusing that fear.. hoax or not.. i believe not.. it would be important some reaction coming from jim on the subject: about the possible delay (not more than that.. what matters!)

Jim,

I took a closer look at your post and you said camera and file related. But you did NOT say they got a camera or the chip. How much damage can they do with what they took?

Jay
THIS is an useful question that we'd like to see answered.. after all the red one reservation holders (at my side there are just 4 different bets) we are partners of this project..

..and find the bastards!

keep us informed please.. thx

Yeah Jarred, it is real. And what is also real is that your good ole buddy is using attorneys to harass anyone who dares to not agree with BS that he is feeding about the RED. Not me personally, but there are a couple I know of.

Jim doesn't do business like other companies. At every step of the way he's filled us in and gotten our feedback on the development of the camera. This break in is one sad chapter in that development. By sharing that information we all share his disappointment.

Keep on rolling Jim.

I am one of RED's customers and feel rather informed (one of RED's hallmarks) rather then panicked or upset. However, panic, paranoid and upset do seem to aptly describe several personalties over at cinematography.com.

Hello everyone,

I'm not a big forum poster as most of you know. I leave that to the trained forum professionals like Jim, Jarred, Graeme and Stuart while I focus on other parts of the RED machine.

But in this case I'm not satisfied to just read the posts and enjoy all the points of view like I normally do.

First I want to thank each and every one of the people here that have expressed their concern and support for the recent events that have occurred. The good news is equipment can be replaced, no one was hurt, and we will not be slowed down by this "random" attack. Whether or not is was something more than that I will leave for others to speculate. We certainly have our thoughts on why this has occurred. My nature is to think the best in people, but in this case... well maybe not.

For those on other forums that have speculated that this is some sort of publicity stunt, well that is patently offensive. I was there for the aftermath, Jarred was there, others (including substantial law enforcement) were there - What happened was very real, and quite disturbing.

OK - that's it for me. Back to the engineering and other tasks at hand - One thing I can guarantee is that this will not stop us, will not slow us down, and if anything has motivated us even more than our usual 178% to achieve our goals... we'll they've certainly stirred up my hornet's nest. (now I'm done talking about this - I've got things to do to make you all happy)

+ Ted

let me guess.. your name is: richard? the fake christ called matthew? all of you are very known of all of us.. you all suck.. :thumbdown

Part of the society we live in today i guess:(

No point in speculating but whoever it was knew what they were after. That still leaves a lot of suspects for sure.

Ironic that the first set back for red has nothing to do with them!

The longer it takes to recover the stuff stolen the more likely it is an organised crime. Lets hope we see a swift recovery whatever the outcome.

We all learn from after the events, if it ends quickly i am sure Jim will have learned something and be more cautious in his future steps. At least no one was hurt or killed, there are a lot of bad people out in this world of ours.

My thoughts are with you today good luck.

Jim dont get angry and be careful what you say. People are looking for excuses to knock you or condemn you. Keep your head up high and be proud of what you have achieved so far. Everyone in life has set backs the important thing is to rise above it and continue your objectives.

Its a sad day but lets all hope and pray that it ends on a happy note.

Michael
