Don't feel bad--I'm not shooting until the 18th, but my I'm going 100% on the Pre-Producton this time. Plus, I have a month off of work in August--so I also have 24/7 to devote to it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling to make this happen. The backstory of everybody trying to get it together only makes me want to see the final projects that much more.

Right now I'm blowing around in a tornado of potential... but it'll take a miracle to shape it into something with a good chance of winning.
 
I'm shooting this weekend, then again on the 18th, then again on the 23rd! We gotta use 3 locations. It's gonna be tricky, but I'm pretty sure I can manage. Working around 12 people's schedules on such notice is tricky...

You can enter the contest right now. In order to vote for the winners you will have to have 100 posts or more, but you can enter a film (and win) without having any posts.
 
Speaking of the voting, and this may have been touched on already, how is that going to work? I've heard people talking about voting for their own films but I doubt that could work. You'll probably set it up to where you can vote for anybody's film except your own, right? Geez, I hope somebody likes mine even though I'm a n00b. ^__^
 
Well Gills, you will probably be able to vote for yourself. The thing is, we are 30 filmakers submitting, and another 700 or so DVXUsers, so voting for yourself is not going to make that much of a difference... Especially, if all the submitters do that...
 
I was just wondering how the system would work. But if I was in politics and could get away with voting for myself, then yes, I probably would.

I think what taubkin was saying is that of all our 8,094 members, 700 will actually vote.

I don't get it? If you wouldn't vote for yourself running for office then you have no business running, because if you don't think you're the best man for the job ... etc.

But you might like somebodies film bettter than the one you made especially since this will turn into a 72 or 48 hour contest for some of us ... but then again there are those cool prizes (I already have everything in the 1st prize, but if by some stretch I won, I would sell on ebay and put money towards DVX100b if it has 16X9, and if not towards HVX, so I'd basically be winning a big discount on a new cam.) ... but hmm those prizes... I could actually really use those apple boxes ... hmm ... yeah the cool swag kinda puts the "honor" vote right out the window...

There's a link to submit somewehere and some people have already done so, but you are not supposed to post or promote your fillm anywhere until the judging starts / contest begins, I guess to avoid early finishers creating an unfair buzz or something.
