Do the Zeiss compact Primes also work on the 7d , I know they will mount but will they work well considering the APS-C sensor.?? Just wanted to Know if anyone out there Knows,

I ordered 3 cp.2 lenses and realy dont want to have to buy a 5d..I like the 7d
 
oh man please post picsssss.... not frame grabs some good 5K pics please really considering these for video and photo
 
I wont have then Until June.. They are actualy building them as i type this. they waited till they had payment before the process. VAT killed the price though,
 
They will work just fine on the APS-C sensor. In fact, the 18mm CP.2 is actually not recommended for the 5DMII (but fine on the 7D) due to vignetting on the full frame sensor.

You'll love the CP's on the 7D. It's like night and day. Don't look back.

Im going to Wait for the 5d MkIII if it comes out. There are some monitoring issues with the 5d that I would like resolved 1st.. other wise yea its on my list
 
I'm using a distagon T 2.8/25 as my general walk around lens. I feel like I'd like something a bit longer as the 25 seems really wide, even on the cropped 7d. I think I want the 1.4/50 T* too. Focusing is a pain with these as the focus throw is huge and there seems to be (at least to me) a lot of latitude between what is critical and not. If you watched vincent laforet this last weekend he shoots everything on his CP's at f/4 or f/5.6 to get reasonable DOF.
