You're getting warmer...

Yesterday I inadvertently put my 100b back in its bag without turning it off. Maybe three hours later, I happened to open the bag and found the camera was still on and the whole interior of the bag was nice and warm. Not hot, but certainly well above ambient temperature. The bag certainly provides insulation which retained the heat. I'm guessing the main heat producer is the display in the eyepiece?

Anyhoo, it doesn't seem to be the worse for the experience, but I haven't gone over it all that thoroughly. Are there specific areas that might be affected that I should examine?

Is it a good practice to remove the battery pack when putting the camera away, or should I just be more vigilant with the power switch checking?

i take off the battery anytime im not using the camera. Any device if u keep the battery attached even if its off, will drain the battery. (albeit slower)

As long as you didn't leave a tape in the camera, you are fine.

The cameras operate just fine on in the hot summer heat (even in the deserts) just fine. It is unlikely it got anywhere that hot in the camera bag.

The worst is when you are shooting on a full battery that lasts 7 hours, you get side tracked and put it in the bag as if you were coming back for it, and then you just forget about it until the next day when you go to turn it on and it is already on, but not really.

This has happened at least six times to me in the past 3 years...still running strong though!

I'm constantly doing this. I freak out every time I open the bag.
Never had any damage though. Everytime I do it I swear I won't do it again but I do.
I'm not a ditz but this one thing I seem to have a problem with.
